I dropped my canon powershot SD 4500 IS and now it won't turn on! It's survived countless other falls just fine, and would turn on immediately then. All times, including this time, have been when the camera was OFF, so it's not a problem of the lens being stuck - it simply won't turn on. No lights or anything. I've tried removing and replacing the battery, as well as the SD card. I'm not sure what else to do...

Really!....you've dropped your camera "countless" other times and now you're concerned because this time, it won't turn on!!! You're not sure what else to do?!!! How about not dropping your camera. How about using the wrist strap. Your dropping luck has run out...your camera does not have nine lives.

I am getting memory card error with canon powershot a410

The A410 works with SD cards. Your 8GB card is an SDHC card and won't work in devices not designed to use them. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

What kind of memory card is required for my Canon Powershot G3? I am asking more for brand or type of card needed. I will be taking pics and video. Thanks`

The G3 can use SD, SDHC, and SDXC cards. As far as your camera is concerned, the only differences between them are size. SD cards go up to 2GB, SDHC cards go from 4GB to 32GB, and SDXC cards go from 64GB to 2TB.

The speed of the card won't matter much for shooting stills. For videos you'll want at least Class 4. As for the brand, stick with any of the major brands and you'll be fine.

Computer won't recognize my camera when I plug it in

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I dropped my Canon PowerShot SX120 IS Digital Camera and now there is no power. Is there a reset button on the inside or anywhere?

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

Canon Powershot G7 just wont turn on... for no reason I can tell.

Usually you can't hear the loose screws in these when they fall out and short out the camera, although many people will say you can. When you have no power on a G7 or a G9, it is most always that loose screw problem. The screws inside should be corrected at the time of the repair so the problem doesn't happen again later. The site that is great for help with the Canon Powershot Camera problems is: www.camerasandparts.com They are great with these and that is all they specialize in. I would see if they can help, they're amazing if you need a hand with the Powershots, plus they do that no power correction on all G7 and G9's they service which I like. Good luck with it
