Looking in the manual (link below) I see that this receiver uses 8ohm speakers, check that your speakers are 8 ohms or more. I think that connecting 2 sets of speakers to the same output is the problem as when you connect speakers in parallel (i.e. just twisting both pairs of wires together) you effectively half the impedance. So if 2 sets of speakers of 8ohms are connected this way the result will be 4ohms which is too low and will cause the unit to go into standby. Try removing the additional front speakers & see if the fault persists. If it does then it is likely a fault in the wiring. http://www.harmankardon.com/product_support/support_detail.aspx?Region=USA&Country=US&Language=ENG&cat=&prod=AVR%20110&sjump=omactive
SOURCE: No sound from "Front Right" channel
I had a similar problem and i took mine back to circuit city and they told me it was a blown channel, which made since because i was pushing the receiver very hard when i first bought it.

This will sound stupid but I've made this mistake before (and I usually know what I'm doing...) so here goes.
Read the manual (check HK's website) - specifically the page where it has the diagram describing how to hook up all the speakers. I'd bet you miswired them due to some confusing labeling on the back.
SOURCE: seems to show working order,BUT!
It appears you do not have a user manual for this receiver. You can get it from this site.
You will see on page 52 there is mention that if no sound from speaker. It is possible the speaker wiring is shorted either on the connector or a speaker is faulty. The amplifier protects itself. Also check you have selected the correct speaker settings.
Hope this helps and you enjoy the system.
