After a lightning storm my bosch single 30" wall oven displayed an F03 err. I turned the power supply off at the breaker for one minute as directed by the oven's manual. This action did not solve the problem. Could the lightning have burned an electrical component out and what should I look for? Oven model no. HBL5035AUC/02 SN NO. FD8711 194237 Thanks, J.

An electrical storm, a power outage and other problems can cause a voltage surge to travel into homes and damage or destroy sensitive electronics.

Particularly at risk is the very sensitive CMOS chips used in computers of all sorts and these days almost everything has a computer inside..
These days a radio and a tv are more computer than anything and even the humble toaster contains a small computer.

It is unwise to use a computer without a surge protector to provide some protection against everyday surges, though even very expensive models can provide little protection against lightning induced surges. The best protection is perhaps derived from the herd effect - when over time a household has purchased a surge protector everytime a new appliance was brought into the house and in addition has installed an area surge protector the protection level increases greatly even for "unprotected" devices or appliances.
When the neighbours on the same phase also have a herd of surge protectors you are helping to protect each other.

It is also worth mentioning a surge doesn't always cause something to fail straight away but can cause a weakening effect on electronics so they might fail months or even years later (for no apparent reason)...

Find out what the F03 error is for and then check out the appropriate area. If there was a strike of surge the most likely place to look for damage is the area where the electricity first enters into the device.

SOURCE: Bosch 755 Oven resets during cooking

Hi Jim. Thanks for your request re prob with your oven.
Unfortunately, this is not a problem I have come across before, so in this instance, I am unable to help solve it for you.
Only thing I can suggest at this time is that you check all connections and plug in connectors, you never know it could be caused by a bad or intermittent connection.
Once again, sorry I can't be of more help.

Yes, it is o/k to have a single oven connected to a 13 amp power supply supplied with a 2.5mm cable.
A lot of single ovens already come with a 13 amp plug fitted, so you can plug it straight into a 13 amp socket.
If there is no covenient socket nearby, then you can wire the 2.5mm cable srtaight into the oven terminal block.
I must stress that this only applys to a single oven and not a double one.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

SOURCE: bosch 455 oven fan will not stop running.

The fan control unit must have failed. You will need to get it replaced.

Bosch single wall ovens where is the thermal fuse located

Hi!

The location of the thermal fuse in a Bosch single wall oven may vary depending on the model, but it is typically located on the back of the oven.

To locate the thermal fuse, follow these steps:
  1. Turn off power to the oven: Before attempting any repairs, turn off the power to the oven by unplugging it or turning off the circuit breaker that supplies power to the oven.
  2. Remove the back panel: Locate the screws or bolts that hold the back panel of the oven in place and remove them using a screwdriver or socket wrench. Carefully remove the back panel to access the components inside the oven.
  3. Locate the thermal fuse: Look for a small, rectangular device with two wires attached to it. This is the thermal fuse. It may be located near the top or bottom of the back of the oven, depending on the model.
  4. Check the thermal fuse for continuity: Use a multimeter to check the continuity of the thermal fuse. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting and touch the probes to the two terminals of the thermal fuse. If the multimeter shows no continuity, the thermal fuse has blown and needs to be replaced.
  5. Replace the thermal fuse: If the thermal fuse has blown, replace it with a new one of the same rating. Install the new fuse in the same location as the old one and reattach the back panel of the oven.
  6. Test the oven: After replacing the thermal fuse and reassembling the oven, turn on power to the oven and test it to ensure that it is working properly.
If you are not comfortable working with electrical components or if you are unable to locate the thermal fuse in your Bosch single wall oven, it's recommended to seek the assistance of a qualified technician.

Kind regards

A F04 Err is flashing on my Bosch double oven. Please can you tell me what this means?

The only F04 error on a Bosch oven is with the Bosch 5000 Series wall oven. On this model, the problem is with the door latch. Unplug (or turn off at the circuit breaker) the oven. Turn it back on after a few seconds. When the power comes on, the oven should do a self-test of the lock mechanism. If the error persists, you'll need to do some diagnostics to determine if the lock is faulty. The problem could also be with the wiring or the control board didn't register the correct signal from the lock sensor.

Please add a comment with the model number of the wall oven for more assistance and any possible parts lists. You may want to call for service if you aren't comfortable doing this work. You probably need to get the oven out of the wall cavity for some of the diagnostics.

I hope this helps.

Experienced recent power outage in my neighborhood. When power came back on, the display on my Bosch Oven HBL5035 now reads "F03 Err". Tried unplugging, but can't get rid of error code and...

sounds like a power surge occurred when power came on and blew out something on the main board. Try looking up the model and model number online and you can find the owners manual then look up the section that tells what the code means. Try unplugging it and leave unplugged for an hour. then plug it in and see if this helps.

Oven displays "Supply Open Neutral" What does

I got this problem on my GE Trivection oven after a 2 minute blackout. "Supply Open Neutral" showed up and no other buttons worked. I shut off the breaker to the oven from outside and it still didn't work. I then turned the breaker off of the other appliances in the kitchen and turned the Trivection oven breaker on first and then it worked. I don't know if it was the order or whether I just turned it off for a longer period of time, but the oven started working normal again.

What is blue wire on ge built in oven for

The blue wire goes to a seperate 15 Amp circuit breaker or fuse.
This breaker should be powered by the L1 (black) supply feed in the breaker box. The circuit supplies power to the display and control buttons. The red and black wires go to a double ganged 20 Amp breaker. Check inside the oven back cover for a wiring diagram.
