Bosch HBL745A Oven door

The door on our HBL745A oven does not close completely at the top. The door is not flush/parallel with the oven, but instaed is at a slight angle, being closer at the bottom of the oven than the top. Seems like an alignment/adjustment issue. Thanks.

I have the same issue with a Bosch 455 A Double Oven.

  • Anonymous Nov 09, 2008

I have the same problem with my Bosch oven door, it does not close tight at the top. We emailed Bosch but had no response. It was only a few weeks old and we complained to the dealer enough that they replaced it with a new one ( after trying to adjust it, replaced the hinges and then replaced to entire door !! ). After getting the new oven everything was fine for about 3 or 4 weeks. Now it is doing the same thing, when using the oven the heat just pours out the top of the doot. You almost need to use an oven mitt to adjust the cook top burners !!! (note: this is a LP Gas oven)

My husband just figured this out.

- Follow Door removal instruction from the manual.
- There is a screw at the end of the hinge that can be adjusted.
- Adjust the screw to desired height.
- Secure lock nut.

I took the oven door off of my Bosch range and now I can't get it back on. I followed the directions on getting it off and it came right off, no problem.

Our Bosch convection oven interior is warped which prevents the door from sealing all the way. I use a gungy cord around the handle and hooked to the cabinet, very classy!!

Cheaper fix which I found was to use 2 strong button magnets which are less thicker then the rubber surround and attach these to the frame of the oven.

We have a new Bosch stove with electric oven. The oven door shut tight when we got it but soon it wouldn't close all the way. The repairman installed new hinges but that didn't do anything - it still wouldn't close far enough to shut the light off. The repairman then installed a new inner door panel because he thought the old one looked warped, That solved the problem - the door shut tight. That was last week - last night my wife used the oven for the first time since the new door panel. She baked at 325 deg - when she was done, the door would not close any more. It looks to me like the inner door panel is warped again. I will call the repairman today.

We have the HBL 742A and have the same problem! We have had it adjusted several times and now our service guy says we must replace the hinges at $145 ea not including labor. Also the door handle has broken three different times and now the convection won't work which may be a circuit board at $300+ not including labor. This is a 3 1/2 year old high end appliance! If you are able to purchase an extended warranty I highly recommend it. We did not and so now looking for a replacement unit (not a Bosch). Good luck and please accept our sympathy.

    I have a Bosch HGS7282UC-02 30" Pro-Style
Gas Range, that suffers the common door closing
    problem.

About a year ago, the range door began not fully closing, causing heat
to escape, the top to be come hot, and the knobs to suffer heat
damage. After the problem became worse, I called Bosch and visited a
showroom here in Brooklyn, but was told that no one had heard of the
problem. I was told I would have to pay for Bosch to repair the
    problem.

Despite what I was told by Bosch representatives, I reviewed the
problem online, with this being a sample post:http://www.farmfreshmeat.com/2009/10/fix...
I did not want, like others, to pay repair costs for a common
problem, especially when the costs were frequently a quarter of the
product's value, and many times did not solve the problem. Why should
I pay half the cost of the item only to not have the problem resolved?

Recently, I read in some online discussions covering the door closing
problem that there is now a sub section on the hinge SKU, indicating
that there may be a replacement part that addresses the door closing
problem. If this is the case, I would like to know if anyone has tried the replacement hinges.

    Thanks!

I have a similar problem with my Bosch, which was under warranty. I received a new inside door panel with new hinges, and noted something different with the new insert: the insert is reinforced with a new piece of metal strip behind the hinges. I think this will correct the problem I've been having. As of Nov, 2010, this may be a new fix for Bosch (and Kenmore, and a few other ranges, according to the repair guy) as I received two boxes, one containing a 'kit' to fix the issue, and a second box containing just the insert with this new reinforcement.
    My model number is HES7282U.
The part number on the work order is "SUB INNER DOOR 22 631 683705 1" AND "SUB FIXING K 22 631 683866 1"
I think the original problem was the screw on the inner door liner backed out causing the hinge to fail, with the door crashing down. this bent the inner door liner which caused the hinges to not close properly.

On our oven (Bosch Evolution 700 Series HGS7152UC), the problem was getting worse and worse. I found it is was worsening simply because the hinges had started to come loose. I removed the door as suggested above, and although there are no adjustment screws on this model I tightened the now-loose hinge mounting screws. After tightening those screws it is a lot better, only leaks as much heat as it did when it was new which is tolerable. Still a bad design.

if the grill section is behind the oven door then the door should be open
if there is a door for the grill section then the oven door can stay closed
to get a user manual ,go google and type in-- user manual for bosch oven model ( type in what you have) --( or leave it out if it doesn't recognize the model)

There are adjustment screws or bolts on the hinge attachments to the oven. Loosen them and adjust the door using wedges to hold the door in place.

I need to remove oven door, cant figure out how

drop the door down as low as it will go look carefully at the hinges as they pass through into the oven chassis you will see a clip on each one that you lift up to lock the hinge you usually lift them up as far as they will go then this will lock the hinges as you close the door the hinges will come away from the oven complete with door.... reverse to refit.
