I replaced the Magnatron Tube and the HV diode, Stirrer this made the oven run for a second and clock remains set. Still will not cook I think I should have went with the posters repair of the HV Capacitor. I could not get it to spark or discharge with several attempts. I will replace it next and hope this is the fix. The kit I bought above is a updated fix for these models, got it on Ebay from the Appliance Doctor for $85.00

Same as everybody else's. Except when I remove controll panel and run microwave it seems to run just fine. It seems like some wiring would be loose, but I am unable to locate the problem.

Set clock and date , try to start and it shuts off also. I see 2 possible problems, the magnetron and the voltage regulator. Looks like the magnetron is covered for 10 years. Can anyone confirm if the problem is from the magnetron or the regulator? thanks!

I found an envelope with troubleshooting info inside the microwave on the left side behind the front vent. A troubleshooting flowchart was included which indicates that this problem is caused by the high voltage capacitor. I got mine out pretty easy and ordered one from appliancepartspros.com for $55 (which includes expedited shipping. I hope this info helps.

Spacesaver powers off 2 seconds after resetting clock and time...

The clue is that you have to reset the clock. You are losing power somehow. the Main Board thinks it is being unplugged and it resets the clock and you have to start all over. The fact that after so many times it will finally work tells me that whatever bad connection you have is finally getting hot enough to expand and make a good enough connection to keep working. Intermittant connections are the worse to find. A lot of trial and error to find the problem. can be bad fuse and fuse holder ( in the unit), bad outlet, loose wire at circuit breaker, loose wire at outlet. Even a loose breaker where it snaps onto the buss bar in the Breaker Box. Etc, it an really drive you nuts trying to find it. Try the unit in a totally different area making sure it is on a compleately different circuit breaker and see what it does, if the problem follows the unit, the problems is in the unit. If not, electrical problems, outlet, breaker, panel,

Microwave shuts off after a few seconds

We are all in the same boat. It is very annoying. I think it is a sensor tripping.

Timer Shuts off after 5 seconds

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Is it 5 seconds or 5 minutes? The difference coulsd be important, but either could indicate a bad magnetron.

Let us know if the hard reset doen't fix it.

Please write back with more details if you need further help.

The microwave starts, then stops 2 seconds later

I tried a solution posted on another posting http://www.fixya.com/support/t242480-stops_cooking by placing the conductive plastic behind the control panel and it worked.

Shuts off, must reset clock

Sounds like you could have a fauly control circuit. Something like when you press the pad the processor does not interpret the information correctly and resets itself. Or the power going to this circuit is being interupted. It is VERY dangerous to work inside of a microwave. So you could get an estimate from a repair shop. But those control boards are expensive. Do not attempt to repair this yourself. For your own safety.
