The membrane gets dirt under them and shorts out the keypad, you may as well just replace the control board which includes the display and keypad on the same board

I am sooo happy. This article saved my sanity. Held the clear/off button down with the door open. The obnoxious beeping is gone and it is locked

Mine too! I solved it, and hopefully you can too. I hit the clear/off button and held it down for several seconds with the door opened and closed. It cleared it up and it works again, hopefully forever.

Keypad shorted may need service

You'll need to carefully removed the keypad assembly and look for moisture etc.

Samsung Microwave Oven Model smh918713 beeping

You may need to replace the keypad. I found there was moisture causing the problem when we boiled water on the right side of our stove which is under the keypad. I let the microwave dry out for several days and now only use the left side of stove when we boil water and have not had the problem.

The microwave started flashing SE the display and beeps every once in a while

The "se" stands for shorted keypad. Pretty much the keypad on your microwave is fried. There\'s a wide range of ways it could\'ve happened but you have two options. You can either dissemble the microwave and order parts online for a replacment keypad or buy a new microwave.

My GE microwave is beeping and the display says F3

F3 on a GE / Hotpoint microwave means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

We would need your model number to give you more specific info, part ordering info, and en estimate if needed.

Simply contact me here with your model number and symptoms for free help.

On some models, the membrane keypad is peeled off and a new one stuck on.

In other models, the plastic frame must be replaced, and it comes with a keypad already installed.

Microwave is beeping, lock comes on, F2, just keeps beeping by itself

F2 on a KitchenAid mike usually means a Keypad short. Beware if it is a KHMS155LSS, it can self start on its own with a KeyPad short. A real stunning defect.

Code F3 on a GE microwave means you have a shorted keypad.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

If you would like to have us do this for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

Beeping sound

On GE's that's usually a shorted keypad. We can replace that for you for about $115 total.
