can we fix it without buying a hole new pump it was working fine yesterday and we plugged it up this morning ...it made a slow soft humming then i later that evening re-plugged it and it started to work then stopped and nothen now ...Annette
Try giving your pump more air circulation.
Turn off pump when not around it.(should only need to run for around 3 - 4 hours on a small (kid) pool 6 - 8 hours for standard house pool
You could put you pump on a timmer - set shut off time to just before you pump shuts down.
Check you pump (when not conected to mains power) - get some WD40 into it - (salt and metal no like each other)

Just need a pdf of the owner's manual. your help is appreciated!
The manuals are indeed free and available online. I just downloaded the manual for my pool.
Don't trust people telling you that you have to buy something ;)
This is the link to the Filter Pump manual page.

krystal clear 637R filter pump - had one seanon and during the season the motor or impellor began to freeze up after turning off to clean. I got worse toward the end of season. Is there a defect with this model?
There is no defect for this particular model, however, these lower end units are notorious for short life.

How do I hook my 633T intex pump to my 15'x42" pool? The strainers do not attach to the black things inside the pool.
We just cut the holes bigger in the side of the pool, it works great now. Just got to make sure you do not cut it to big! I do nnot understand why they can"t make it standard.
Hope this helps!!!!!!

I have a intex 637R pump and the problem is it does not seem to be pumping water corretly. It seems like not enough suction filter is new have cheecked for air it does not seem to be working properly. Would a larger pump help? This one came with the pool?
I have the same problem. I've replaced the filter and made sure nothing was blocking the inlet or outlet but it barely pumps. I also bled the air out.

some of the ''legs'' or supports to our intex pool are not straight up and down; they are angled to one side...is this a major problem? Will the pool collapse from this?
Should be ok, it really depends on the angle, mine are prolly a few inchs off on some, but im not worried with mine. im pretty sure you will be ok.

pump 635 impeller shaft is broken, can't find another, thanks
Here is a simple solution to your shaft impeller problem. First, you need to buy a brass (non-ferrous) round bar about 1/8 inch thick. Any other metal types WILL NOT WORK. Cut about 4 1/2 inches from the brass bar and verify it will fit in the impeller. If it does not, then you need to re-size it. The best way to do that is place it in a drill press and use a metal file (the reason for the 4 1/2 size). As the brass bar rotates, press the metal file against it until a desire size is reached. You may have to remove it from the drill press from time to time and see it will fit into the impeller. When the correct dimension is found, place it back in the drill press and use a medium grid emery cloth to smooth it down. Remove it from the drill press and cut it to the proper size (3 1/2 inches). Remember to round out both ends smooth before re-installing it back in the pump. Reassemble as normal and you are done!!! This should take about 30 minute to perform including installation. I did this to my Intex pump and it runs very smooth and have not problems with it.

how much horsepower does my intex Crystal Clear Model 635T filter pump have? I'm looking at a hth vacuum that requires at least 1/2 horse power. thanks
If the unit does not have the horsepower rating, but has the AMP rating, try this formula found in Answers.com
"Amps are a factor in calculating power, and so can be used to
determine horsepower, but only when other factors are present.
Given other factors, you can find the horsepower. The easiest
way is to determine watts by multiplying amps X volts. Next multiply watts by
.00134 and you have horsepower.
If: amps (A)= 20 and volts
(V)=120 then
A X V =2400 watts (W)
2400
watts X .00134 = 3.216 horsepower"
Hope this helps you???

impeller in intex model 635 broken where can I buy replacement part?
A late answer but it might help future Intex impleller sufferers... they do not sell replacement parts and you won't find any impellers sold separately anywhere on the planet. I've had 1 Intex pool and 3 Intex filter pumps in 3 years. Last week the 3rd pump's impeller broke as well. I shan't buy their products again.
