try using a pc with card reader / writer to format the memory stick pro duo and then try it again in camera it should work........If you have troubles formatting the same using a PC as well check if gets detected as removable disk and then try using a antivirus to scan it and if you find any virus, remove it first and then format it. it should then work.............

Don't be panic. you can try some data recovery software. As your description, I think your memory stick is error which may cause by virus attack or partition corrupted. Go to a computer store and ask for a "USB to PRO Duo Memory Card Adapter". Stick the card in the adapter plug the adapter into the computer.

if you can see your usb drive but its not working

ports (com&lpt) right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem

check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems to a computer and its parts you might have restore it to its defaults

Right click on usb drive select properties you will have an array of options

Select the hardware option then select your drive properties policies

check the small lock switch on the adapter usually located on the edge of the adapter. check and see if in lock or open position. if its in lock position toggle the switch to open position and you should be able to read as well as write date to and fro from the sony memory stick pro duo adapter. good luck
