On your laptop magic gate written next to an opening means Sony corporation memory cards may be inserted in that .

and if you want to parition your hard disk after installing your windows,you will need third party softwares called parition magic which are free to try,but you will have to buy those softwares to use it,so its better to paritiyion your hard disk while installing windows

In order to unlock the gate, you have to use the boomerang on the four windmills atop the nearby pillars. (You can queue up targets with the Z button while you aim the boomerang.) You can’t just hit them at random, though; you have to follow the Z-shaped pattern on the floor. For instance, you can go northeast pillar - northwest - southeast - southwest, or the opposite. When you hit the pillars in order, you’ll unlock the gate and obtain the Big Key.

To fix the problem
Disable the S.M.A.R.T error detection feature in the CPUCool program or similar utility.
Boot to the Windows 2000 or XP installation CD, and at the Startup menu, press R for repair.
In the Recovery Console, type the following:
chkdsk /p
When the CHKDSK process has finished, reboot the computer.
Run the program again.
The error should no longer be reported unless you start using the S.M.A.R.T error detection feature again.

Error occurs with PartitionMagic 8.0
If you encounter Error 1516 with PartitionMagic 8, first run CHKDSK /F on the affected partition. For instructions on how to run CHKDSK, read How to Run Microsoft's CHKDSK from the Command Line. If this does not fix the error, try running PartitionMagic with the /IFC switch, which causes file system errors to be ignored.
To run PartitionMagic with the /IFC switch
Boot from the first PartitionMagic rescue disk.
When you are prompted to insert the second rescue disk, press Ctrl+C to drop to the command (A:>) prompt.
Insert the second PartitionMagic rescue disk and type the following:
pqmagic /ifc
Press Enter.

Your Magic gate is half size. You need an adapter that you put your magic card into which will bring it up to the standard SD size for your printer. You can find these at place's like Best Buy. Bring your magic card with you & make sure it fits before you leave the store. Click this link & you'll get the idea of what you need.
