BOSCH WASHING MACHINE RETAINING SPRING FOR FRONT DOOR GASKET

This is a two person job. The spring part of the metal ring goes at the 6:00 position (note the groove on the metal part of the machine). Fit the ring into the gasket as much as you can on the hinge side. While one person uses pliers to stretch the spring, another person uses a flat head screwdriver to move the ring into the gasket groove. The trick is to stretch the spring as straight and close to the machine as you can or else the ring pops off and the gasket has to be reset.

Water in tub

I don't know if the outside temperature has anything to do with your problem. I think it may just be coincidental. Water accumulating in the tub is usually caused by two things:

Leak by - which is caused by a water inlet valve malfunction. The valve has an electronically controlled diaphragm that closes to shut the water off when not in use. Over time the valve can accumulate sediment and debris causing the valve not to seat all the way. This is especially true if you live in an area that has hard water, or if you use well water. This will cause water to leak by when the valve is not in use and accumulate over time in the wash tub. You can attempt to clean the valve with distilled vinegar to remove any sediments and flush it with clean water. You will need to remove the valve in order to do this. Sometimes a good cleaning is all it takes to correct the problem. If not, I would recommend replacing it.

Siphoning - siphoning occurs when the drain line is installed incorrectly. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r587481-prevent_washer_siphoning

Although the problem usually describes a condition where a washer constantly fills and drains, or cannot maintain the proper water level, it can also cause back flow from the drain. Double check your drain line installation to ensure there is a proper air gap to allow for proper draining. If not, a vacuum is created and drain water can back flow into the washer.

A simple test would be to shut the water supply off when not in use. If the washer STILL accumulates water, you know you have a drain problem. If it does NOT, then you know you have an inlet valve issue.

I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you still require assistance.

Bosch 3.81 cu ft Nexxt 500 Plus bleach not dispensing

We had the same problem with the bleach dispenser. It was under warranty so Lowe's sent a repairman that replaced some part in the control panel that he said was faulty on this model. He also said to only use 1-2 Tablespoons of HE detergent and leave the door open. Also dilute any softeners before adding them.

My front loader Bosch washing

Make sure it is the fabric softener that is not being added. Try running w/o fabric softener and see if the tray is still full. The reason I am asking is that after I run my washer the fabric softener tray is full, with water, not softener. The factory tells me it is because the water fill nozzles have realigned and overspray into the softener tray. Not a big problem, since my system is under warranty I am having them fix the nozzles and then I will know how to redirect.
If it is the softener that is not being added then check to make sure the line is not clogged. You can lift out the bleach / softener try and check for cloggs.

After a wash load , the softener resevoir is full of water

We had this same problem for a long time and I could never figure it out.  Then one day I cleaned the screens on the water inlet hoses.  I cleaned both the cold and hot lines.  I cleaned both ends of each line.  Suprisingly to me, there was a fair amount of granular light brown stuff lodged in the little holes of the strainers.  Since we are on city water, I doubt it was sand but that is what it looked like to me.
Anyway, after I cleaned them thouroughly, the filling of the softener/bleach compartments with water no longer happened.  Perhaps this is just a coincidence but it was the only thing I changed.
I hope this helps.

My Washer STINKS!!!

Wipe out the door (inside the door-pull the rubber back with a javex cloth or something all around the ring). Buy Affresh.........do three loads on the hottest cycle (still wiping all the **** out after each wash) each with an Affresh tablet. If you can't get it......pour a cup of Javex in the bleach dispenser and do as above.

Good luck!

Bosch washer spin only

Had a repair man here for the same issue. Learned two things:

1. Too much detergent causes 'soap lock.' The electronics will get confused when there's too many suds left after a rinse and shut the spin cycle down. That's why re-running the entire cycle without more detergent solves the problem. Use less detergent.

2. There is a way to manually get the spin cycle to run using diagnostics codes. Here's what my guy did:

a. Washer selection knob in OFF position.
b. Hold the 'Spin Selection' and 'Delay Start' buttons down at the same time.
c. While holding those two buttons, turn the Washing selector knob to Permanent Press-Cold.
d. Keep the buttons held down until the LCD control panel reads 'P:01'
d. Release buttons.
e. Use the 'Spin Selection' button to cycle thru the codes. Stop when it reads 'P:04' which is the spin cycle.
f. Press 'Start/Pause' button to begin the spin cycle.

I don't know what the other codes do but this should save you from having to run the entire wash cycle.

Hope that helps! Tim

Wow - I can't believe it. I had the SAME problem and searched the internet. This was the first site I found and was initially discouraged since there was NO solution, but upon further searching, I found the answer. I'll post the site here http://applianceguru.com/forum2/14805.html and you can just hop on and find out the answer in a much more helpfully worded way than I could ever do it!
I found a girls bobby pin and a rubber band stopping my drain from functioning! I thought it would FOR SURE be legos, but those boys are off the hook!

Bosch frontload washer will not drain

Hello Mamma5, It sounds like the drain pump is either seized or jammed. The drain pump has an anti jam device in it. Since you have figured out how to get into the drain pump, try turning the inpeller in the back. It will be a little hard to turn as the magnets in the motor will fight you on this. Look close in case there is anykind of thread wrapped around the inpeller. If so, then you can free the pump. If you cannot free it to run, advise the repairman what you found so he can bring a drain pump with him.
Hope this helps.

Code E13

For a Bosch washing machine, Error 13 is pumping time exceeded. So, in general, the issue is pump related. Things to check would be if the pump is blocked (it can be cleaned out if you can get the service door in the front panel off), check the wiring connections to the pump, and check the drain hose to make sure it is not blocked.

Object between rotation and stationary drums

Solved the problem - removed the back piece of the washer to give relatively easy access to the drain hose to the pump. Removed the hose at the tub end and there was and end of the wire waiting to be pulled out ! Reattaching the hose is a bit of a fuss but the whole process was relatively simple . Other posts about blocked drains etc. pointed the way - thanks
