Bosch washer spin only

Had a repair man here for the same issue. Learned two things:

1. Too much detergent causes 'soap lock.' The electronics will get confused when there's too many suds left after a rinse and shut the spin cycle down. That's why re-running the entire cycle without more detergent solves the problem. Use less detergent.

2. There is a way to manually get the spin cycle to run using diagnostics codes. Here's what my guy did:

a. Washer selection knob in OFF position.
b. Hold the 'Spin Selection' and 'Delay Start' buttons down at the same time.
c. While holding those two buttons, turn the Washing selector knob to Permanent Press-Cold.
d. Keep the buttons held down until the LCD control panel reads 'P:01'
d. Release buttons.
e. Use the 'Spin Selection' button to cycle thru the codes. Stop when it reads 'P:04' which is the spin cycle.
f. Press 'Start/Pause' button to begin the spin cycle.

I don't know what the other codes do but this should save you from having to run the entire wash cycle.

Hope that helps! Tim

I have a Bosch front loader washer. It has begun leaking water out of the bottom, and often will not run through a full cycle, but we sometimes get lucky. I tried it today and 5 mins into the cycle

You have to inspect water outlet from the drum. When it starts filling water, water leaking out at the same time. So computer sees, thet water level is not going up, so it stops. You should call service, or if you have someone, who ca open and see. Some times you can find it yourselves

We have a mildew smell from our Bosch front load

I am not sure about the dry detergent, but you have to leave the door open after you are done with your loads. Wipe the inside rubber ring out and wipe the door down. It needs to stay open until it is completely dry.

Mildew odor in the machine....can't get rid of it and makes clothes STINK!

If you have a smelly front loading clothes washing machine, toss in a Finish Geltabs (the ones that are all liquid) and run the machine on a hot wash cycle, medium to heavy load (to get more water in the tub) with no clothes in the machine. You don't need to use much of a spin cycle so set it on low. The washing machine will come clean and even the moldy spots on the rubber gaskets will disappear. A second treatment may be needed if the smell is not completely gone. We tried everything from vineger to bleach to baking soda to borax to commercially available odor removers from Whirlpool and Tide. Nothing worked until I hit on this idea. It's cheap, easy and can be done anytime your machine needs a refreshing. I used the orange Geltabs but any fragrance would be fine. Keep the door on your washer open a bit when possible to air out to help preclude those nasty smells.

How do I replace the drain pump for my Bosch WFMC530 Nexxt 500 Plus Series Washer drain pump?

the best way to change a pump is to do the following. make sure the machine is fully disconnected and pulled clear. remove the lid and using folded cardboard or old carpet, jam it down the side of the drum on the opposite side to the drain pump. very carefully tilt the machine over onto its side (again cardboard or carpet on the floor to reduce damage to the side. this should now give you access to the underneath of the machine with a good view of the pump with all the hose connections and wiring. disconnect the wiring connector (usually held in place my a tag so may need a bit of a wiggle to get it out. it only fits one way, but just in case, take a picture to make sure. using pliers or mole wrench, remove the clips from the inlet and outlet of the pump. leave the clips on the hoses so you dont loose or mix them up. the pump can now be removed by unscrewing the unit from the front of the machine using a crossheaded screwdriver (normally a PZ2) then its a simple case of reversing the procedure. Dont forget to remove the packing in the washing machine and make sure all the connections are on correctly and secure. Good luck

I have a Bosch Nexxt 500 front load washer that will not drain when it gets to the spin cycle. The drain pump is clear and free from obstructions as well as the lines are clear and manually filling up

Sounds as if the rinse hold button has been set by accident.check the switches top left.if they are correct, then next query would be logic board has a problem, sometimes fixed by hair drying the board in cases of damp lack of use washer.if machine completes most cycle then I suspect rinse hold button is on or open circuit.

Bosch frontload washer will not drain

Hello Mamma5, It sounds like the drain pump is either seized or jammed. The drain pump has an anti jam device in it. Since you have figured out how to get into the drain pump, try turning the inpeller in the back. It will be a little hard to turn as the magnets in the motor will fight you on this. Look close in case there is anykind of thread wrapped around the inpeller. If so, then you can free the pump. If you cannot free it to run, advise the repairman what you found so he can bring a drain pump with him.
Hope this helps.

Replace door gasket

It sounds like you have left the spring on the inside lip of the door opening when you removed the old seal,
You will have to take the seal off again and feel for the spring on the lip of the front of the drum, you will find it easier if you have something to hook it out with,it is fiddley, but you must get the spring out, or the seal will not stay on
Refit seal as before, and double it back inside the drum, then fit the spring in the groove that you can feel on the lip of the door seal. Work the spring all the way rond feeding it into the groove as you go round, you will find it a lot easier if you have someone there to hold the spring as you are are fittingit, it is very fiddley, stick with it!!!.
Plz rate this solution .
Thanks.

Door locked and won't open

Hello and welcome to fixya. The "E13" error code on the WFMC series Bosch washer`s refer to a drainage problem as you may or may not already know. ( or in Bosch terms "pump time exceeded" ) What you may have is either a clogged pump, improper detergent being used, ( must use "HE"/lo-sudsing detergent ) hence suds not allowing a proper drain cycle, or wires loose at the pump...the later being the least likely. You haven`t mentioned if you`ve checked the pump...just hoses as you did mention. Anyway, here`s the most likely way to remedy a E13 code. **Unplug the washer from the wall or turn off the breaker before attempting any repairs** Get some towels and if possible a wet/dry vac. If the machine drained, it won't be too bad. If your machine is stuck full of water, I can't say, hopefully you won't get wet. ( maybe you`re lucky enough to be close to a floor drain ) Locate the round door on the front of the machine (about 6" in diameter, lower right corner) Find a drill bit or small screwdriver that fits in the hole in the round door. Insert the bit into the hole in the door. It will push in a tab, it doesn't take much force. Rotate the hole (clockwise) to 6'oclock and it should come free. (the edges are very sharp so be careful or wear chain-mail gloves). Once the door is out of the way you'll be greeted by a 3-4" plastic cap with wings so you can unscrew it by hand. ( you should also see a red ring with a string attached, if you pull this the door should unlatch, but getting the water out first is usually a good plan ) There is a small collector lip at the bottom of the cap, that is where you can hold the wet/dry vac to catch the water. Unscrew slowly so you don't get flooded, until it is unscrewed all the way out. Now pull out the trap and visually inspect the inside of the pump as well as the filter/trap. Hopefully you'll find the item/debris that initiated the error code. After removing any debris or obstruction`s re-install the button trap/lint filter and plug the washer in to power or reset the breaker and give it a test. Run a load and watch for leaks. Leave the pump access door off until you are sure you screwed the cap in tight and there are no leaks. Ultimately you may have a faulty drain pump, but I would certainly start by performing the things I listed first. Let me know if you require further assistance and if not and this indeed solves your problem, please rate the solution I provided accordingly. Thank you for coming to "fixya" and good luck. macmarkus :)

Will not spin

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Rate me pl.....if helped. Click on 'thanks for trying' if not helped, your prob will be back for someone else to solve.

E 13 error code

Hello Eric, welcome to FixYa.

The E13 error code on most series Bosch including the "Nexxt" series washer`s refer to a drainage problem, as you may or may not already know. ( or in Bosch terms "pump time exceeded" )

Anyway, here`s the most likely way to remedy a E13 code.

**Unplug the washer from the wall or turn off the breaker before attempting any repairs, and a pair of mechanics gloves are recommended due to extremely sharp edges...safety first**

Get some towels and if possible a wet/dry vac. If the machine drained, it won't be too bad. If your machine is stuck full of water that is typically the reason for a locked door, that sucks...hopefully you won't get too wet. ( maybe you`re lucky enough to be close to a floor drain )
  1. Locate the round door on the front of the machine (about 6" in diameter, lower right corner) macmarkus_26.jpg
