Performance Teknique ICBM-892 Car Audio Amplifier Questions & Answers
I Hooked up a Performance Teknique 1200 watt 2
disconnect the amp and then put the fuse in.if it blows, there is a pinched wire causing a short.
Also, big amplifiers like that have to be wired battery direct.
the surge current at boot up can pull 100 amps for 10 millisec.
I have 2 perfomance teknique 700wts and i dont
Hello perezmagdiel,
That 700 watts is maximum peak power, not RMS. If you're looking to not spend a lot of money for an amp, but want something that sends enough power to the Performance Teknique's, I'd recommend a 2-channel like the
Boss Diablo D400.2. It's plently powerful enough and if you change out later, the amp can be bridged. And for inexpensive, it's got a lot of nice features, including a remote level control. It's 2ohm stable in stereo. Nice, for under $70.
Hope this helps.
Icbm-892 amp performance teknique on protection mode
see what the volts and uf are and u can desolder the old one with some solder wick and find a replacement out of some old junk electronics that is the cheapest way I have done this many times and the used one does not have to be black
2 1000watt 12inch
tolally bad wiring on you spk if you say series parell chek the way the spk is wired in the box it could be wrong
I cant stop the whine
Ok, if it only happens when the engine is running and the noise changes with the gas, that's alternator whine. Alternator whine is caused by the ambient noise in the voltage which is produced by the alternator. Alternators don't make DC current, they make AC current. The AC current is then converted to DC current and then sent to the rest of the car. The noise comes from an imperfect conversion from AC to DC. That noise travels down the power cable to the amp and causes noise in your speakers. This is often called "dirty power". Dirty power can be variations in voltage, inconsistent current, or noise within the voltage. One of the simplest ways to clean up noise in a car stereo system is to use capacitors. If you add a capacitor to your system just before the amplifier's power cable, it will help filter out the noise from the alternator. Start with 1/2 Farad or 1 Farad. That should be plenty to clean up the noise. The capacitors will also have a positive effect on your amplifier's thermal and sound performance, but you may not notice it.
My amplifier keeps on protection always
Hi,
Amps normally have several kinds of "protection" modes. Common ones are thermal, voltage, and short. Do you know which one you have? If the amp isn't hot, and goes into protection immediately before doing anything, we can rule out thermal protection. The next thing you should do is disconnect the speaker/subwoofer leads from the amp so that it only has power, ground, and remote connected. If the amp comes on with no speaker load, connect the speaker and see if it goes into protection. If it does, then you probably have a short-protection. Hope this helps.
Audio system set up
Well one problem is you might need a smaller amp depending on how many speakers you have, 1200 watts is way overpowering for 300watt max speakers and could possibly blow them and even catch them on fire!!!! But everything else is compatable because all of your epuipment is of a newer products but if you dont have 4 guage wires or anything else make sure you get them heres a list: 4 gauge wires for power and ground, REM wire "blue is the normal color" RCA jacks, A compacitor, fuse for battery to amp to keep system from blowing up, 8 gauge speaker wire or even 12 guage to hook up from the amp to the speakers, That should be the common things you need to have a good thumpin system!!!!
