Whirlpool adg 7550 starts cycle then beeps and

6 flashes indicates water intake fault ie machine is saying it has not filled with water within the required time.
-Check inlet hose not kinked or blocked.
-Next, check inlet valve is OK (check with ohm meter-should read approx 4k ohms). If no circuit thru valve, replace.
-Could also be fault with water indicator switch (much harder to access and diagnose- located underneath sump on right hand side).
-I have also had this occur because of a faulty flow meter. Flow meter measures the volume of water as machine fills. Flow meter is large plastic chamber located on left hand side of machine (accessed by removing left hand side panel). It has a sensor on the bottom with 2 blue wires. Unfortunately again, very hard to test this component without specialist equipment.
Hope this is some help- not sure how technically minded you are, but checking inlet hose for kink/obstruction is a good place to start, then advise calling service technician unless you are a confident DIYer

LITE FLASHES 4 TIMES

4 flashes indicates a blocked pump. this can be sorted without taking the dishwasher out.

first remove the kick board,
take off the wooden door.... just loosen all the screws on both sides and door should slide down and off, this gives you more room to work.
remove the bottom panel of dishwasher....4 hex head screws
you will then see the pump in front of you, left hand side
empty the dishwasher with a cup....get as much water out as possible

twist the pump clockwise and it will come off, remove blockage and put back together again.

look out for the tab on the pump you have to push down in order to twist off.

hope this helps.

My standard size dinner plates

Some machines have height adjustable top shelf.
Should be couple of clips on side of rack to raise / lower.

Other than that you will have to get smaller dinner plates.

Built in machine - top shelf only - cups

Check that the arm outlet jets at the trailing end of the arms are not blocked with food particles and other solid matter. This often happens and the arm is unable to turn because the water jet that is supposed to drive the arm does not have the force to rotate it.

Wont drain

New garbage disposal? It's happened many times in my career- customer installs a new disposal then the dishwasher won't drain so they buy a new dishwasher to find the disposal didn't have the knock out knocked out. Check the easy stuff first.

Hi above please find your service and repair manual. If the fix below doesn't work, then work through the service manual troubleshooting steps and you will soon zero in on the problem.
Now this fix below may or may not fix your DW, however it works many many times, so may well be worth a go to start with.
Ok so your dishwasher won't do anything... it justs sits there and "Hums" you can't make it respond to any controls, and the ONLY way to Stop it. is to unplug the unit, replugging back in it simply "Hums" again and will do nothing.
Now this happens because, the STOP Button, is pressed and the "Door Opened", during the Wash Cycle. This should NOT be done. You shouldNEVER TURN IT OFF MID-CYCLE. you should instead, Simply, pull on the handle, to Open the door, the system will take care of everything, after, you close it,and pick up where it left off. The turning OFF, makes the machine "Think" that a New Cycle, is going to be done, before the old one is finished, and resets itself to do it all again. But it still has water, that's not meant to be there so it must dump it out.
Now, the FIX. Take the Dishwasher, out, and tip over on it's side, tip to about a 45' angle. Water will come out from underneath, this is from a small "Overflow" reservoir. this reservoir has an "Anti-Flood" switch. The removing of this water will "Reset" this Switch, and allow the dishwasher to work again.
So what happens, is this, when the STOP button is pressed Mid-Cycle, the machine must "Dump" whatever water is still in the machine, into the "Overflow Reservoir". This water then causes the Anti-flood switch to jam, and this stops the machine, until it is reset,by the above method.

I have just moved into a new house with what looks

Hi jo..... many of the old dishwashers did not have an upper arm. Regarding the detergent dispenser there are a couple of reasons why it no longer operates but rather than spend money on a repair I recommend that you simply purchase the 3 in 1 tablets and toss one right into the floor of the dishwasher and turn it on. That said, always run the hot tap water into the kitchen sink until it is as hot as it will get BEFORE turning on your dishwasher.

AND since this is an older model always rinse any food or debris from the dishes before placing them into the machine. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!
