Hi!
I live in MN & just received a note from my tenant in DC:
"A few weeks ago, after a power outage, the washer started
malfunctioning -- freezing in the rinse/spin cycle. I think the code said F1."
Any ideas?
Thanks, Ann
An F1 is almost always a defective main control board. Could try unplugging the unit for a few minutes and see if it will reset. The part # for the board is W10110072. Sears sells it for $119.46 http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=WFW8300SW01&productCategoryId=0153200&brandId=1198&modelName=RESIDENTIAL-WASHER&diagramPageId=00003&componentDescription=CONTROL%20PANEL%20PARTS&documentId=W0607261&backToLink=Return%20to%20Sub%20Components%20list.

My Duet washer stopped on the Spin cycle and I can't get it to start the spin cycle or any cycle. I've unplugged the washer and plugged it back in and tried to start the washer again to no avail.
Press 'end of cycle' for over 3 seconds. Perhaps you have to check your filter, maybe clogged.

I have Whirlpool Duet Sport Washer. The seal is tore and leaking. I ordered a new seal. How do I put the new one on?

Our washer gets an "F1" error message when it's got 17 minutes remaining in the complete cycle. any ideas?
Cliff
Whirlpool duet sport shows f-1 code about 15 minutes into wash. I had to pauce, cancel, unplug, plug in and select drain and spin to finish load. Not too happy about this.
HELLO, Error code F1 indicates a control failure and most likely the machine control board will have to be replaced. Depending on when you purchased the machine, the board may be covered under extended component warranty.
I had the same F1 problem and they had to replace the control board and something relating to the balance. The tech told me this is a common problem.

The control lock light is on and we cannot get it off in order to have the washing machine run. We tried unplugging, holding the cancel button for 3 seconds and holding the start button for 3 seconds. Does anyone know how to get the control lock off
To unlock the controls Select and hold END OF CYCLE SIGNAL for 3 seconds until the CONTROL LOCKED Status light turns off.

My washer flashes a F21 code and won't drain. I have to switch to drain and spin during normal wash cycle to get it to drain many times before it will start to spin
i had the same problem. take the bottom cover off of the front of the washer. on the right you will see a round white screw off cover, it is very tight, it unscrews counter clock-wise. pull this out and see if there is any debris in it. if you look into the hole on the right side there is a hole about 1 inch round, this is the pump opening. you may have to take the gray drain hose off of the back of the pump housing and feel if anything is stuck in there, in my case there was a penny stuck side ways blocking the flow of water. after i took it out the washer has been running great again. this is obviously a design flaw, that something that large could manage to get that far, lucky for me it didn't damage the pump impeller. hope this helps. this should take care of the SD and the F21 error codes.

whirlpool duet washer, error code f28
F28 is a serial bus error from the CCU (Central Control Unit) to the MCU (Motor Control Unit).
All you need is some Electronics contact cleaner spray and a 1/4 inch socket to remove the top of the machine and the back of the machine.
The CCU is the computer looking box at the top front right hand corner.
Find connector M13, (has red marking on it and only 3 wires) disconnect it by pushing the retainer tab back and pulling gently on the connector.
Spray the contacts of the connector and computer with connector cleaner.
Then re-assemble connector.
The MCU is in the back lower left corner.
Find the connector with 3 wires and red mark, and remove this connector in the same way you did the other, spray it and re-install.
Put the back and top back on.

I got an error code of F70 on my whirlpool duet washer. Model #WFW9400sw. I unplugged the machine to see if it would go away and now I am just getting a series of 3 beeps and nothing else. It is 2.5 years old so the warranty is no longer valid. Can I fix this myself or should I call in the repairman? Or should I throw this away and buy a different brand?
Hello
Try pressing pause and cancel twice.
Then restart the washer.

whirlepool duet front load washer error codes F01 and E02
Whirlpool Duet Washer model number WFW94HEW2
My wife put a bunch of wet towels in the washer after this we got Codes F01 E02. I freaked out.
Under the top(roof) panel of machine there is was a service technicians manual that explain how to enter Service Diagnostic mode and explained fault/error codes and their possible causes. This isnt for the faint among us. But if you can solder and work with electronics you can diagnose the problem. The technician manual tells you check this, then this and if that doesn't work/ or does work go to 'C', then go to 'D' etc. Either way I ended up diagnosing that it was my MCU (motor control Unit), you did have to use my multi-meter, for ohms and resistance, but it wasn't rocket science. Upon close observation there was a burnt connection solder point on the board. I looked up the part online and ordered, wasn't cheap. $225.00. But just to come diagnose the machine Whirlpool was going to charge $100.00 + parts and whatever else. The moral of the story is if you can tinker and be careful you can totally do this.
