I GOT THE BURNER IGNITOR WET WHILE CLEANING
It will stop once it drys out. The best bet is to unplug the electrical power cord and let it dry overnight. Plug it back in the morning and it should be fine. The moisture is most likely in one of the switches just behind the knobs.
Starts about 5 minutes after heating water..last
you may have oil and sludge collected on the ignitor tips, this sometimes causes loss of ground and they click
look at the one you cooked chicken on see if there is something there and clean it off
Bottom oven does not heat
i ceertainly think that there is problem with the burner. as per the working principle of an Oven the ignitor is doin its job so the problem is with the burner please do check it out...
Burner igniter won't click or work
This is an easy problem to fix. If your repair man is correct and it is the spark module and not a wire harness problem you can pick up a spark module as sears for about $37 and it only takes a couple of minutes to install. Just pull off the back panel and replace the module. This is a repair that anyone can do. I would recommend unplugging the unit before replacing.
My bottom oven will not heat
More than likely you have a bad ignitor, it works like a glow plug, it heats up, when it draws around 3.2 amps, it opens the gas valve and ignites, it stays on for the duration of baking/broiling. Like a light bulb, it has a finite life, I would do an amp draw on it, if it is drawing less than 3.1 amps then it is time to replace the ignitor, should cost around $40
Maytag gemini gas stove. Ignitor problems
My experience with this is that it occurs when moisture gets into the ignitor area and shorts out the open and causes the spark. It stops after it drys out.
This is very non-techinical and I will defer if there is a deeper solution.
Ignitor Switch
Either a foreign object is blocking it,
Or the gap for the spark may be set too little or too much, try adjusting the gap.

Electronic touch pad not working on my oven
Hello beachlady80,
Welcome
You said, It was working fine last night but when you woke up this morning the
display has 3 vertical lines and none of the electronic touch pads
work. The burners on top of the stove still work.
What is the model number and how old is the range ?
Try turning the breaker off for 10 minutes and then on again after this allotted time.
This may reset the system.
Let me know how it works.
Waiting for your answer.

Top of Gemini range
Hello patricialc,
Welcome,
You said, you have the stainless Gemini range and the top is black. I cannot get
the top clean. It looks like the paint or the surface is "bubbled". I
have tried EVERYTHING and it always looks like there is grease spatters
on the top. I have all Maytag appliances and I am VERY disappointed
with this stove. If I could, I would take it back...but I keep trying.
I let the Maytag stove I had go. It was made in the late '50's, so I
could 'update'. What a mistake!!!
The other option is to order a new glass top and have it replaced.
No abrasives!!
Let me know how you do.

Oven lights will not turn off, Maytag gas double oven range Prec. touch 750
Hello bohlke75,
Welcome
You said, After cooking in the upper oven today, my wife noticed that both oven
lights were on. I tried to turn them off but the oven light button just
beeps when activated. I individually tried the plunger switches on
both doors but that did not work either. You also unplugged the stove with
the hope it would cancel the lights but they came right back on when i
plugged it back in. You assume it is something in the touch pad since
both lower and upper lights are affected.
Did you leave the plug out for 5 minutes or just do it quickly?
if it only happens on one door then the plunger switch is bad!
if it's both doors then you have a button or control problem. Service can give you a true diagnoses with out the cost of swapping parts randomly!
If it was the plunger you may have been able to get away with a do it your self repair!
Let me know how you do
.
Thank You,

Stove igniters stay on
Hello edmontonDad,
Welcome
You said, Stove igniters stay on.
The igniter goes off only when the cap is removed.
This is happening with two burners at the same time.
This sounds like a valve control problem!
Do not leave this go.
This can be dangerous!
Seek service right away.
SORRY that it has to be hands on service!
Thank you for using our advice.

Bottom oven does not heat up, top oven works
the most common problem for your description is that your bottom ignitor is not working properly just because the ignitor glows doesnt mean your ignitor is working it has to draw 3 amps or more to ignite the bottom burner part number for the ignitor is 12400035 let me know how you make out
Gemini range
You didn't say if the problem is ignition or lack of gas flow. If ignition, it could be the pilot..if you have one..or the spark unit or its switch. If it is a gas flow problem, get a service person.
Broiler glow bar stays on
the glow bar stays on in gas ranges the whole time the cycle is running if it didn't the safety valve couldn't open its normal
Inacurate temp
The follow suggestions apply if you are at sea level, or a bit above. If you are in the mountains, you'll have to compensate for altitude issues.
You need an accurate thermometer to be spot on.
One way is to use an electronic thermometer. Another is to set the oven to 217 degrees, insert a small pan of water into the oven, with a metal tray or pie tin on a lower rack to catch spills and see if it eventually boils. If the water didn't boil, you can adjust the temperature upward in 5 degree steps (see your owner's manual for details). If you've lost your manual, you may be able to go on-line and get a pdf copy of your manual. If the water does boil, you know your oven is accurate within 5 degrees. You can then proceed to re-do the experiment at 212 degrees, if you wish. Then you may use the data to adjust the oven temperature.
Inacurate temperatures
Often the temp gauge is the culprit. To check temps, allow to preheat for 15 minutes. Monitor the highest temp reached after burner shuts off and record. Then monitor lowest temp before burner cycles back on again. Average out readings. Example, if high is 355 and low is 345, average temp is 350. Do this for 3 cycles and average out.
