I have 4 fans all on same code how do i change
You need to change the dip switches to different codes. Most likely it's a 1-4 small switches. Factory default is usually all on. Just change each fan to different positions and make sure you do the same with the matching remotes. The remotes must match the corresponding fans.
My huner fan is moving slowly and I smell burning.
It is probably less expensive to get a replacement. When there is a burning smell, it is usually the motor that is failing. BUT just to be sure , take down the canopy cover and try and determine where the odor is coming from. Is it in the wiring , or definitely in the motor?
The remote controls the light but not the fan
Make sure the switch isn't turned off. (Obvious, but it happens) Most of the time, this is a problem with the remote set itself (usually the receiver in my experience) You may be able to save a little bit by replacing it with a universal remote set. (available at the larger home stores) Good luck.
I have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan. It stopped
The green wire is a safety ground. Leaving it unconnected is not good from a safety standpoint, but it would not keep the fan from running.
If this Hampton Bay fan has a remote control, and if you have good batteries in the remote, then you most likely have a failed receiver in the fan. I had one of those to fail at my house, so I replaced the receiver and it failed again in less than a year. Then I got a different fan.
Be sure to turn off the breaker before you poke around in the fan; don't rely on the wall switch alone for safety. Good luck!
When I turn the light off with the remote control
im realy not trying to be a smart a*s but bont you only ever use lights at night?? i know i do?
it sounds like its the programer chip within the light that giving you the problem if taking the batterys out the controler dont stop this, its down to the light,
well there is one other thing it may be,,,
a friendly gost playing tricks on you???
or it could be that its getting a surge or spike of power from some were and that tricks the controler in the light to turn itself on???
sorry about that bit of fun as first just could not resist it????
Light and fan go on with the wall switch. But I
Dear rwk,
youe remote unit is OK as I can understand from your feed back. The problem lies with you the light control power device. The Triac of the light controller is shorted. It has to be replaced with a new one. If the wattage of the lights is within 250W, you can use a triac of type no BT136. It is located in the wall remote receiver unit.
Thanks
