I have a hyundai imagequest l72s 17 lcd monitor

You have already vrify that the sound card and setting in the computer is OK? You can try feeding the audio source from MP3 player to see if you will get the sound OK. If it still does not work, to fix the sound circuits will cost you more tahn a good set of powered PC speaker system, you may want to think about that first before putting money into this monitor.

The power goes on and

You have a power supply problem.Have it serviced or if you can open it and replace some capacitors that bulged up tops.Unplug the unit first and observe polarity of the parts being replaced. They are often have the number and voltage tolerance capacity printed on it,get the same capacitance and voltage specified for safety.

Common problem is the caps in the power supply, please read on if you are going to DIY repair.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on: Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Monitor blinks on then turns off after computer boots up

It could be your LCD backlight giving you problems. When the image "goes off" shine a flashlight in the lower left hand corner of your screen. Look for the ?Start? button, if your backlight is not working you?ll see a faint ?start? button if you look closely. Depending on the monitor this is usually and economically repairable problem. On a 2009 Hyundai 1.6 on the chains how many links separated the 2 cams

are you sure that it is a 1.6 motor as 1.6 motors use a belt not a chain your statement that it has 12 on each cam indicates that it is a v engine or a double over head engine in any case you do not count links but put the colored links directly over the sprocket dots you have to use a cam locking tool to get it right
