Mine comes on for a second, as soon as I hit the on button then blinks off after about a second--it's taking about 30 times on-and-off before my Dell 19" lcd monitor stays on.

It could be your LCD backlight giving you problems. When the image "goes off" shine a flashlight in the lower left hand corner of your screen. Look for the ?Start? button, if your backlight is not working you?ll see a faint ?start? button if you look closely. Depending on the monitor this is usually and economically repairable problem. I'm having the same problem. It only happens if the monitor has been off for a while. Last time I had to hit the power button 30 times until it stayed. I would usually turn the monitor off to prevent burn in, but truthfully I am afraid to even shut down my computer, since I don't think the monitor will turn back on again. This is not a backlight problem. I seen no start menue when the screen is off, my guess would be a capacitor going bad or faulty connection, but I don't know enough about the technology to make an accurate assessment.

NO DISPLAY on screen but processor fan is work

If it seems like the computer booted up all the way except the screen is blank.

If so try connecting another monitor to the computer. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok and works, then the video card inside the computer is good, but the original monitor is bad. If the Borrowed monitor does not work, then the video card inside the computer is bad.

If it does not seem like the computer booted up all the way try the steps below.

When you plug in the power cord is there any lights whatsoever on the computer?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear the DvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for a second or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, but the screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with the computer and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issue when you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous. Most times the problem is with the memory or Video Card. Count the Blinking Lights or Beeps and take note of their pattern (1 Long or 1 Long followed by 2 Short).

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoever when you press the power button.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, then Press and Hold the power button for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in and hit the power button to see if it boots.

Maybe your memory is bad or the memory slot is bad.

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of the memory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x on it with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the next memory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set it aside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If it boots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and put it into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

Maybe your power supply is bad. Sometimes there is enough power to make the power light or some other lights come on but not enough power to make the fan turn on or hard drive spin.

Dell inspiron 530 desktop won't boot, fan is running, no signal on monitor

It sounds like either your monitor or video card inside the computer is bad.

If the monitor is showing the "No Input Signal" message then the video card inside the computer is bad. The monitor is ok otherwise it would not be able to display the No Input Signal message.

When you plug in the power cord is there any lights whatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of the power cord?

Asus p5lp-le no display

If it seems like the computer completed the boot process but the screen is blank, try the steps below.

The problem will either be the monitor or the video card inside the computer. Connect another monitor to the computer to isolate the problem. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays and works ok, then your original monitor is bad and the video card is good. If the Borrowed monitor does not work then the video card inside the computer is bad.

If the computer did not complete the boot process then try the steps below.

When you plug in the power cord is there any lights whatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of the power cord?

When I boot up my PC the monitor will blink the windows logo and sign on for a second then go black....if I turn off the power button on the monitor and pust it back in the monitor will again blink the...

Could be the resolution too high for the monitor.
Try to press "F8" during the "Starting Windows" message, then select the safe mode or VGA mode.
After logging in check the resolution and if needed reduce it.

Could be also a video driver problem.

Use the same "F8" trick to get to the safe mode and reinstall the video driver.

I hope this will give you some ideas

Viewsonic VX922 19" Green Light Blinks when booted, no picture

I have the same problem with my VX922 as do MANY others. The problem seems to be caused by leaking/bulging capacitors on the circuit board. The only solution is to replace the faulty capacitors either on your own (which is fairly easy if you're good with a soldering iron) or send it to Viewsonic and have them fix it.
