XM Radio (XMP6000) - Page 2 Questions & Answers
I have a navigation/radio in
Whatever is going on, is going to be hard to identify and pinpoint without some sophisticated devices to analyze whether it's an internal software glitch, or a possible hardware chip with a loose leg, etc. Since circuit boards these days are almost always replaced as a whole, there's not much that's affordable to do to the device, except live with it. My guess would be that there's a design problem with the frequency selector chip, but like I said, it would take hours and a lot of electronic devices to really know, and noone, except a really bored retired engineer, would have the time to figure it out.
Wish there was a better answer, and perhaps someone knows of one, but this is the best I can guess.

I just bought my 2010 GMC Terrian a few months
Sounds like that satellite receiver antenna is not connected properly or the antenna has been damaged. Assuming this is a 2010 model you should be covered under warranty. Next time you take it in for your oil change I would recommend you have the dealer look in to this.

My XM radio stopped on Saturday and now I can olny
Hello,
You will need to reset your XM radio, follow these steps to reset the radio,
Collect and read all of your XM radio documentation, which should
include a manual and an 8-digit XM Radio User ID.
Refresh your XM radio through the XM radio website. Tune the radio to
the XM preview channel and then input your XM user ID at the XM radio
activation reset site. Allow a few minutes for the XM service to reset.
Also, you can manually reset the XM radio without going to the website. A general hard
reset can be performed on the unit by selecting the "Menu" option and
then selecting "Restore Factory Defaults". The wording may vary, but by
selecting to restore all factory defaults the XM radio receiver will be
returned to the state it was in when purchased.
Test the XM radio reception after the reset has been completed. Tune the
XM receiver to the preview channel to see if the radio is receiving the
requested satellite feed. If not, then contact the manufacturer of the
receiver and not XM, as further XM radio resets may have to be performed
by the manufacturer of the unit.
Take care.

My Delphi Roady reciever has
Sounds like an audio amplifier ic is slightly bad, or something of that nature. Is this the first time you hooked it up to your stereo, or has it just failed recently? It's possible that there is an impedance mismatch, or that the output of the radio is weak by nature, in which case more amplification would be needed by the stereo.
As far as the Roady 2 goes, it should work- can't think of any reason why it wouldn't.
Not sure if this will help, but here's an excerpt from Crutchfield.com:
Important note from Crutchfield: Current FCC rules limit the transmission strength of wireless FM transmitters to a point where transmission needs to take place very near your FM antenna. XM includes a SureConnect cable with its car kits in order to address this issue, but Crutchfield strongly encourages customers to use an auxiliary input, wired FM modulator, or cassette adapter to ensure your satisfaction with the performance and cosmetics of this satellite radio
Good luck, hope this helps you, and thanks for using FixYa.

My Pioneer AVIC-D3 gives a message that says,
You have memorized a track of "ch001". You can create "memos"/memorize any song you like and the player alerts you when it's playing on another station. If you touch the "memo" button when you are setting up your receiver, like I did, you will get a notification and an alert asking if you want to change to channel 001 because it thinks it's one of your favorites. To stop this, simply press "menu" on top left corner of unit. Go to "Function", touch "memo", and you will see all of the tracks you have memorized. Touch and hold the track you want to delete for 2 seconds. You can also delete all, or turn off alerts.

Signal drifts in and out
Make sure that your Xm antenna has a clear view of the sky. If your antenna cable is ok, and the antenna is in a clear location, and the antenna cable is properly plugged into the unit,
Also, if you're in an area with alot of tress, mountains, tall buildings etc... this can cause the signal to fade in and out.

XM Radio Advice
Hi,
- Though XM and Sirius have merged to form Sirius XM Satellite Radio, each remains a separate service with distinct advantages and disadvantages. On the music front, while both services provide a wealth of channels to appeal to nearly any taste, only XM offers live concerts. For sports fans, XM carries exclusive rights to Major League Baseball, NHL hockey, PGA golf and the Indy Racing League. XM talk radio exclusives include "The Opie and Anthony Show" and "Oprah and Friends." Additionally, XM, like Sirius, has a wide selection of news, weather, politics and other talk radio channels. An online version of the service is free to subscribers, or can be subscribed to separately (*est. $13 per month), but the sound quality isn't terrific. Sirius (*est. $13 per month) is the other satellite radio service. Offerings are similar, except for sports (Sirius carries the NFL, but not baseball or hockey) and the selection of celebrity channels (Howard Stern on Sirius vs. Oprah on XM).
- If i had to choose then i would have gone with XM so i guess the rest is upto you to decide.
Good Luck!

No audio output
Hello,
was there an audio output initially? Cross check you speaker wires from your stereo to the speaks. There might be a cut or disconnection.
Also, check the settings on your stereo, the speaker might be on mute or the volume is low to minimum.
Do the cross-checking and let me know the out come.
Good luck.

Screen is cracked
Wow, tough break! It's not only a matter of physical dexterity and skill, but also one of availability! Before you ponder it too long, you might try to see if it's even possible to get your capable hands on one.
If you can get one, you've got an uphill battle ahead of you. It's a tough, complex unit with very delicate innards.
Can you repair it? Possibily. Can you repair it without causing irrepairable damage to it? That remains to be seen. Good luck, but unless you've got a reasonable amount of experience with modern electronics, it's not for the faint of heart!
