XM Radio (XMP6000) - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

You need a static blocker/inhibitor get it one at any stereo installation center or radio shack and wire it in the hot or ground. There are different types the sales person can help with the type for your vehicle. Gunny :-)

The problem is amazingly simple. The red wire goes to your ignition so it turns the radio off when you power down your car so as not to discharge the battery. The YELLOW wire is usually your memory and it connects to the power side of your fuse box (anywhere will do as long as it's powered when the car is off completely). Occasionally this wire is blue but it's rare. This wire draws a tiny little bit of power so your stereo doesn't 'forget' your station settings etc. BTW Pioneer is one of my favourites :)

Check the fuse. There should be a fuse for the radio, either in line or in the fuse box.

More than likely its the power jack on the unit. Wasn't made to be plug and unplug too many time. If good with a soldering iron you can fix it yourself, You can do it.

You have a bad unit. What is your model number?

XM Radio... • Answered on Aug 22, 2011 • 23 views

You can see there will be 4 or 5 screws behind the frond panel. Remove thes screws frond panel and remove tha back cover . There is a spring loaded knobe (used to eject the panel) inside so when you open be careful. don't miss that spring. Now remove the board from the case. Then you can see the knobes in the frond panel. replace the knobe which is broken , from the other unit that you have. You can open that unit also like this. After that reasseble the frond panel. don't forget to palace the knobe and spring back. When you close the back cover you shoudld be careful because you have to propely palce the other end of the sprig loaded knobe in to the small hole in the back cover. Then screw it back. Attach the frond panel to your system and check.
ok

I have Sirius and I have noticed this problem a few times. What worked for me is unplugging the unit. I have a toyota and I installed the Sirius modules behind the glove box. All I do is unplug the units from the power source and the feed to the radio, then let it sit for a few minutes, plug it back in, worked every time for me.
Hope this helps.

I have learned due to fc regulations the fm modulator only works with the car kit. Looking into a device called a fm buddy that tricks the radio into thinking it's in the car kit so one does not have to pay the extra money for the whole car kit. I use a converter in my vehicle so I can use the home kit in my vehicle.

You have memorized a track of "ch001". You can create "memos"/memorize any song you like and the player alerts you when it's playing on another station. If you touch the "memo" button when you are setting up your receiver, like I did, you will get a notification and an alert asking if you want to change to channel 001 because it thinks it's one of your favorites. To stop this, simply press "menu" on top left corner of unit. Go to "Function", touch "memo", and you will see all of the tracks you have memorized. Touch and hold the track you want to delete for 2 seconds. You can also delete all, or turn off alerts.

With a Satellite Radio receivers you need to make sure the Antanna is on the top of the car. with nothing obstructing it. As it pulls the info from a Satellite. Now some bigger cities have terrestrial Antenna. But check the line for the Antenna make sure there is not bare wires showing and make sure that it is not damaged in any way.
