Usually the answer is to install more RAM.

This sounds like a virus infection. Run antivirus software.

Probably all it needs is the proper driver. You should have gotten several disks with the laptop containing OS, drivers, etc. If not, go to the Acer's site and download the proper drivers and install them. They will have installation instructions posted or for download. Unfortunately, I can't tell you who manufactured the webcam in your PC. Should be available on Acer's website. I do find it odd that Win 7 doesn't have the drivers already installed tho. Most major webcams are covered, especially if you bought the laptop with Win 7 installed. Can also try going to device manager and uninstalling the webcam, then reboot. Windows will reinstall the webcam. Try updating the driver from device manager also.

Replace the disc drive, might not be able to read. Disc also could be bad, try it in another known-good computer.

Might be faster with the USB cable plugged in directly to the computer.

Replace with a new mouse and see if the problem persists. Also try changing USB ports.

Check the cable to the computer, sometimes a color variation is the cable being bad or not plugged in all the way on both ends. If that's still not the case, it's the video on the monitor or the graphics card itself.

Sounds like it's overheating. A lot of times the processor's thermal paste has been burned up or the fan isn't spinning. Computers have built-in temperature gauges that will act as kill-switches in the event of the temperature heating up too much.

So let's go to Intel Support for more information, and to the specific product download page for the Intel D845GVSR motherboard, Intel Desktop Board D845GVSR Product Guides On this page left-click right on the blue title - Intel Desktop Board D845GVSR Product Guide (PDF) This is a PDF file.
