what is model number on the remote for the 3500 dvd/vcr

consult your tv manual, if your tv have a "speaker out" on the back then you can hookup your speaker directly but if your tv only have an "audio out" you can only hook this up to "audio in" of your audio system.

just going off of memory and not being able to look at the system at the moment, I'm thinking a s-video cable might work

if your dvd player is 5 years old or more i suggest you trash it and get a new one but if its not try to clean the lens manually with a peace of bond paper. rub the paper gently on the surface of the lens

There might be a diagram but I haven't seen any belt fitting diagrams at all, merely the odd exploded view. Replacing cassette belts is as much fun as a jigsaw puzzle - you keep removing screws and parts until you can fit the belt and then you reverse the process...
