Sanyo Audio Players & Recorders - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

There might be a diagram but I haven't seen any belt fitting diagrams at all, merely the odd exploded view. Replacing cassette belts is as much fun as a jigsaw puzzle - you keep removing screws and parts until you can fit the belt and then you reverse the process...

Hello
Put it an other good known disc, which the set has played without any problem at all. If it also doesn read it, and displays no disc, the Laser Picku unit of your set has damaged. Put in a lens cleaning disc into the player, and play it for at least three times. If the fault is due to accumulation of dust or durt, the cleaning disc will clean it, and your set will be OK. If not repalce the Laser Picku Unit, sith same type and number.
The lens cleanig disc can be bought from most of the electronic sparpart selling shops at your town, and won't cost more. OK.

I had the same problem. A defective capacitor is trying to charge near the audio chip .
My solution : I have remove the audio chip (the one with big heat sink) and I use the aux out output to my amplifier.
When plugging it takes some time to finally work : but once plug and working it stays on and work ok.

Flashing is caused by bad capacitors Caps on power supply board all go bad sooner or later, so replace them all ($5). Look for bulging tops especially, and the green ones are the worst. Power spike could have caused poor quality caps to fail. Don't want to fix it, sell it to me.

Could be bad capacitors or fuse. Fuse is inside under a plastic cover as I recall. Caps on power supply board all go bad sooner or later, so replace them all ($5). If you can get a refurbished power supply board, buy it. They are as good as those new from factory. I bought a refurbished Sony Radio - Cassette - CD player 23 years ago and it's still good!

You'll never get this from them, as others have tried. Sanyo is now Panasonic (Matsushita). Also sold under the Medion name (in Europe I think).

Most likely bad capacitors on the power supply board. Replace them all (6 or 7). Same thing happened to mine. If you see green capacitors (KSC brand) they are definitely bad. Notorious for failing. Cost about $4 for me as I do it myself. Don't want to fix it yourself, sell it to me.

There probably is a leaf switch under the turntable that is operated by mechanical movement of the tonearm. The switch has to be adjusted/repaired/replaced to regain the function.
