What seems to be the Problem with your TV and what makes you think One of the Tubes is Bad?
Most common problem with this TV is the STK ICs STK392-110. Mats has them.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung, JVC, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Akai, Pioneer, Hitachi, Zenith, and others. You can get a convergenece repair kit wiith instructions from the links below.

This model uses two of the STK-392-110 convergence chips--both along with any bad resistors around them are going to need to be replaced and the set adjusted.

If you can do the repair you can buy a pair of the chips on Ebay for less than 14 dollars plus shipping.

If you cannot do the repair shop around your area as most shops charge 300 or more for this type of repair.

If the set will not adjust in the customer menu one or both chips are bad---BOTH need to be replaced.

If you know how to solder or know someone who can do it for you--I can describe in general terms what you will need to do for this repair.

that sounds like it could either be a convergence issue, or power supply issue. If you go to the following link and leave them a email with your model number and symptoms they will help you identify which part you need.

chec your ic register diode and transistor.
aslo check poer supply waltage and earthing properly.

maybe I can get you one but I need the sizes in inches by the way some tv has more than 1 screen can you tell me if all of them are broken? I was unable to singn in for a while due to a problem in the system

with my projection tv , i have a Mitsubishi dlp, the screen went black and a red light flashed it was the bulb that had to replaced i dont know if that maybe your problem.

it cost about 150 just check online to see if you can find the replacement bulb, for me it did fix my problem.

I have the exact same problem a month ago. I replaced the two STK392-110 ICs with the STK392-110T adn everything went back to the way it was.

are you a service tech? if not, don't even try it. you'll regret it.

most likely the power supply is gone same thing happened with mine and now can,t find the parts if you can find them let me know please as well.

Check out PACPARTS.COM..They have a lenticular screen in stock for 117.00..Type in the model number of the set and you can see a list of all replacement parts. Hope this helps

Check for bad caps in vertical circuit. Solder any/all bad connects. REPLACE vertical o/p IC w/OEM or better quality. I usually use Tosh,Hit,or Pana. 2)Check/replace tactil switch (menu)on front panel.
