Toshiba projection television TZ50V61 62"

This tv is around 7 to 8 yrs. old. When I turn it on it will stay on for about 3 minutes then shut off. What is the problem?

At first the TV would come on and play for a while the the screen would get black and the power light would flash, I could unplug it for a while and then plug it back in and it would be fine for days. Now when I try to turn it on the power light just flashes at me and nothing happens.

My TV is around 8 yrs. old. When I turn it on it will stay on for about 3 minutes then shut off. If I unplug itit will turn back on and in another few minutes, shut it self off with the power red light blinking. Sometimes it will work for days with out a problem, but now the problem is more constant. What is the problem?

Same problem here. Mine just started doing it too (red light blinking) stays on for 3 minutes or so.

Most likely the power supply is gone same thing happened with mine and now can,t find the parts if you can find them let me know please as well.

When it shuts off and the green power light goes off, press both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set (not the remote) and hold both for about five seconds and release.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks and then 3 blinks and repeat it several times.

What is the error code?

My 50hm66 will turn on,picture comes on for about 10 seconds and then the tv turns off.After it turns off flashing red led on front of tv. What would cause this?thanks jim

I had similar problem with my 50HM66 , except it would stay on for at least a few minutes. I cleaned and vaccuumed (with lamp removed) as best I could, I think it's an over heating issue. My TV is 3 yrs old, have replaced lamp once, it did it with either lamp. When I put a fan to the right of the TV so it's blowing behind it, my TV doesn't shut off. Something to try...

check the fan to make is working properly. It's in the lamp compartment on the left side of the unit. clean the vent on the rear unit and the fan fin's gently. good luck

65" toshiba projection tv no picture but has sound..

if you could hear only sound in tv and not picture means it might be the picture tube problem just check it.

HELP

Your TV needs a new lamp. We have had our TV for 3 yrs and every year without fail, we have had to replace the lamp. Its getting old at this point because our warranty is about to run out and that means we will be paying around $170 a year to replace the lamp. I wouldnt buy this TV again.....
