Vtech V.reader Animated E-book... • Uploaded on Dec 23, 2013
The blue screen seems to happen when you change the batteries (it's what happened to us). The blue screen indicates that there's a software problem, like when you boot up your computer and for some reason it freezes up. That software needs to be reinstalled. You'll lose anything that was saved on the v.reader, but at least you'll get it working again.vtech could have made it a very simple problem to solve just by adding in their customer support: Blue Screen? follow these steps. But they don't, so here's how:You'll need an SD card with at least 64mo of free space. If you want to use the one from your camera, transfert all of your pictures first. Everything on the SD card will be erased.Download the Recovery software from either link below (you can find both on the vtech website, but it took me a while to get there)For the US versionhttp://contentcdn.vtechda.com/vtechkidsDownload/US/VReader/Tool/Recover/US-engRecoverCardTool.exeFor the Canadian english versionhttp://contentcdn.vtechda.com/vtechkidsDownload/CA-eng/VReader/Tool/Recover/CA-engRecoverCardTool.exeThis is the link the the website itself: http://www.vtechkids.com/download/ca/enRun the program and follow the instructions (at least those are clear and easy to follow). Mine worked fine after that. And since there's no reset button on the v.reader, this is the only way to erase the 100+ drawings that your child saved.Hope that solves your problem.
