How do you calibrate v.reader screen

What you need to do is go to vTech's web site and download the Learning Lodge Navigator. Once you load that on your computer, you can sync your vReader with the computer using a USB cable. There's an option to run the calibration tool. Here's the link: http://www.vtechkids.com/download

Tried the recovery software on a SD card but it did not open the software

If you made the SD recovery on your computer through a sd slot or card reader it should work. You can't make the recovery sd through your vreader. Put it in the vreader while it is turned off, power it on and the vreader should start reprogramming. Then it will tell you to shut off your vreader and restart but make sure you take the sd card back out before restarting or it will just reprogram again, lol.

Is there a reset button on a storio

There isn't a reset button for the Storio. If you need to erase all of your child's saved drawings, etc. the Storio can only be reset by reinstalling the software. You'll need an SD card with at least 64mo of memory. The Recovery program will erase anything that was on the SD card, so transfer anything you want to keep tp your computer. Download and run the Recover SD card creator program from one of the links below:For the US versionhttp://contentcdn.vtechda.com/vtechkidsDownload/US/VReader/Tool/Recover/US-engRecoverCardTool.exeFor the Canadian english versionhttp://contentcdn.vtechda.com/vtechkidsDownload/CA-eng/VReader/Tool/Recover/CA-engRecoverCardTool.exeThis is the link the the website itself: http://www.vtechkids.com/download/ca/enFollow the steps to reinstall everything. It takes a few minutes.

My daughters v reader gets stuck on a blue screen and wont turn off.

The blue screen seems to happen when you change the batteries (it's what happened to us). The blue screen indicates that there's a software problem, like when you boot up your computer and for some reason it freezes up. That software needs to be reinstalled. You'll lose anything that was saved on the v.reader, but at least you'll get it working again.vtech could have made it a very simple problem to solve just by adding in their customer support: Blue Screen? follow these steps. But they don't, so here's how:You'll need an SD card with at least 64mo of free space. If you want to use the one from you camera, transfert all of your pictures first. Everything on the SD card will be erased.Download the Recovery software from either link below (you can find both on the vtech website, but it took me a while to get there)For the US versionhttp://contentcdn.vtechda.com/vtechkidsDownload/US/VReader/Tool/Recover/US-engRecoverCardTool.exeFor the Canadian english versionhttp://contentcdn.vtechda.com/vtechkidsDownload/CA-eng/VReader/Tool/Recover/CA-engRecoverCardTool.exeThis is the link the the website itself: http://www.vtechkids.com/download/ca/enRun the program and follow the instructions (at least those are clear and easy to follow). Mine worked fine after that. And since there's no reset button on the v.reader, this is the only way to erase the 100+ drawings that your child saved.
