What program and where did you download it from?Sounds like a virus to me. Run some scanners such as Malware Bytes

It is on the motherboard. Take the power cord off the unit and panel to access it. On the board is a small round battery which is about half an inch in diameter and silver (chrome plated) somewhere on the board. Usually a CR 2032. It is what powers the memory of the CPU. Cost is around $2.50

IE is corrupted- the download program from it is gone. The only way to fix that is to reinstall Windows. It's simpler just to use another browser - Opera has a fully operational download manager in it.

Maybe something is defective from the factory? Can you bring it back and exchange it for another? Is it a desktop or a laptop? If it's a desktop, maybe remove a side panel and aim a small fan at the inside. Do you know how to start up your computer in safe mode? Maybe try starting it in safe mode and see if you can do a system restore, do you know what that is and how to do it? Google will explain it to you, but I'd suggest those steps.

There should be a small round hole on the door near the eject button. Using a straightened heavy paper-clip, insert straight into the hole. There is a lever inside that you will feel, press in until the door comes partly open. Then you can pull the door to access the disk.

If there is a little pinhole by the eject button, unroll a paper clip and stick one end in it.

If your restore partition is intact, you can press F11 at boot, and follow the on-screen instructions to do a factory restore. Be sure to backup your data first, as it will be deleted in a Factory Restore.

Open a paper clip and see if you can find a tiny hole in the front of the cd drive. Push the sraightened out paper clip into the hole and the drive should open without power on the computer. The hole on my dvd plyer is just above the switch which opens and closes the dvd drive. If the paper clip is too big you may have to go to a pc shop and buy a pin which comes with most new dvd players. If the owner of the shop is a nice person they may give you a pin and explain more.

Use your UP-TO-DATE AntiVirus and run a FULL SCAN. ALSO Download, install, RUN a FULL SCAN with MALWAREBYTES: http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ , UNCHECK the PRO TRIAL, you want the freeware version. If you cannot download , reboot to safe-mode with networking and download Malwarebytes and run your AntiVirus. Respond to post for furthwe assistance.

What is the question? When hooking up a power supply, there are only 2 plugs to hook up and there are only 2 places on the motherboard where they fit.

This monitor may not have built-in speakers. It may have supported Gateway's monitor mounted sound bar. That sound bar connected to the 3.5 mm audio out on a computer and a DIN port on the monitor. The simplest solution is to connect your source to appropriate speakers. Depending on your audio setup, you could connect the video source to a receiver with HDMI IN and HDMI Out (ARC), computer speakers or an audio extractor. (If you are using an HDMI cable between the Gateway LP2417 and a computer, you may need to reset the audio output to use basic computer speakers (3.5mm jack).) VGA and DVI connections don't support audio so I assume you are using the HDMI port. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

No you don't need a driver. These are very plain powered speakers that come with a mains adapter and a lead with a 3.5mm stereo jack at both ends. Plug one in the speaker and the other into the headphone jack on the front or the speaker socket on the back which will either be a socket on the motherboard, or if your son put a sound card in the computer, it will be in a sound card. If it doesn't play straight away, go into Settings - Audio and make sure the sound card or the On-Board Audio is enabled.
