No! There is no switch to reset after a jam.
Make sure that there is no paper in the machine. Example: Finisher, trays, etc...
After that make sure that the doors are properly closed.
If you still have the same message probably you have a broken door switch.
Hope this helps you

SC 542: Bad melting temperature. The code can not disappear by itself, it must enter the program mode of the machine and delete it with mode 5810.

Hi
Ricoh 1232 copier and printer.
Is the paper in the tray landscape-oriented or portrait-oriented? If it's landscape-oriented (short edge is fed first) then you might just need to realign the paper fences. There is a screw holding down the gear in between them -- if you remove that screw you can move the fences so that they're both lined up correctly. (Push them both in all the way or out all the way, then reinsert the gear and screw it back down.)
If the paper is portrait-oriented, it may be an adjustment that will have to be made by a Ricoh service technician. It is a simple adjustment to make, and should only take a minute or two if you can have a tech look at it.

This error code is related to a Insufficient oil.
The fusing oil tank is in the rear of the machine.
You have to call Ricoh to supply the oil.
See you
For some reason, my Ricoh
There are two things to try the first is to open the printer by going under my printers and double clicking the printer. Click printer in the top right and make sure that "user printer offline" is not selected. If that is not the case then restart the printer and computer at the same time, and that should clear the connection between them. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at

We need to figure out some of your terminology here to find out what the issue is. First you said "The areas are simply Black" Did you mean Blank? I am confused as to wether the "bald spots" are black or blank. I would have assumed blank. In any case I just need to know if 1) you have areas where the print is "missing", or 2) areas where you have black spots, or 3) areas where the print "rubs off" or is not "fused" onto the page.
If the print is not fused properly or rubs off then you have a fusing unit problem. This is an assembly located right where the paper exits the machine. This will be somewhere around a $300 to $400 fix.
If you have blank areas or black areas that are not in a straight line across the whole page then the problem is most likely in the photoconductor unit. If the Photoconductor unit is at fault then you are looking at $400 to $500 to repair the machine.
If you can provide further details I will be appy to help.
Thank You for using Fixya.
