You are likely to discover genuine parts are quite expensive but items like the capacitor and regulator is likely to be bought in by the generator manufacturer so if the components have printed on them a name, a value, a part number; it is often possible to locate "genuine" parts from the original supplier. I recently bought a start/run capacitor this way for a pressure washer and it cost me less than a tenth of what it would have done from the pressure washer manufacturer.

Heat is the enemy of solid state devices. Please, check that the heat syncs are properly installed and that there is no obstruction to good air circulation around the circuit boards and around the generator. Any heat shields removed to replace the circuit boards need to be reinstalled in the original configuration.

Remove the air cleaner and give a couple of quick squirts of starter fluid into the carb. If it runs for even a little bit, you have a dirty carb not delivering gas. Re-clean all the orifices under the fuel bowl.
