First make sure that the starter is not loose and that there is nothing blocking the starter drive from enguaging to the flywheel. Also check for 12 volts at the starter when you turn the key. Could also just be a bad starter.
the solinoid for the starter is sticking. and not kicking it out, to start it. good-day !!

pull the starter
there is either a problem with the solenoid connecting the terminals inside before engaging the pinion gear (plunger disconnected from lever that moves the pinion gear forward
OR
the over run clutch of the pinion gear has failed and is not locking the gear in the drive position
load test the battery as it indicate a problem battery
