SOURCE: 2006 snow bear plow,

Yes, Check where strap or chain is mounted to winch. It could be loose or have dirt or oil on it something to make it slip.On mine there's a brass piece that raps around the shaft, It got lose and dirty so I cleaned and tightened it. If you pull motor off winch to check gears [don't use gear] when reassembling it's too thick when it's cold. I used white spray lube. Hope it helps!

Is there any problem running synthetic oil in the fjr 1300. Can it cause clutch slippage etc......

Hello scamp, if your engine is broke in, rings seated, then there is no problem running synthetic. Synthetic will protect your engine better & will give superior lubrication, smoother gear shifts & easier cold weather start-ups. What you want to avoid is the "friction modifiers & energy conserving" labels. These have been known to effect clutch performance.

Yamalube 20w40 is recommended for your bike. That viscosity is hard to find in other brands.
Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 meets or exceeds mfrs specs.
Service classifications, API SM, SL, SJ.SH, CF, JASO MA
I hope this helps, & good luck with your bike.

I need to know what kind of real end oil should i use on my 2007 yamaha vstar classic 650

For the final drive oil you can use any 80/90 Hypoid gear oil. If you choose a synthetic Hypoid gear oil your rear end will run cooler. One quart of oil is enough for 4 or 5 rear end oil changes. Because the rear ends are so expensive (around $1000), I change my rear end oil every other engine oil change.

Type of oil for a 1981 Yamaha Virago 750 hard to check because dip stick is missing.

The transmission oil and the engine oil are the same. Use only a JASO MA certified motorcycle oil. Automotive oil uses different additives and will shorten the life of your wet clutch and transmission gears. Shell Rotella T for diesel engines , both standard and synthetic are JASO MA rated.10w-40 oil is good for cold climate. 20w-50 for hot climate/touring. Synthetic oil will make your cycle run cooler and shift easier. Your final drive uses 80/90 hypoid gear oil. Synthetic hypoid oil will reduce friction and make your final drive run cooler. You will probably need four quarts of oil . Pour in three quarts and check the oil level by placing your motorcycle on the center standard looking at the level through the site glass on the left lower side of the motor.. Top up as needed. If changing the oil filter you will have to run the motor to get an accurate oil level reading.

How much oil does the bike hold, and does the clutch use the same oil? What is the reccommended oil wieght

The chief benefit with synthetic oils is they can withstand higher heat and flow better when cold.
10w40 or 20w50 will work. Manual Recommends Yamalube 4 (10w30 or SAE 10w30 10-100 F)
Yamalube 4 (10w40 or SAE 10w40 35-120 F) approx.
API Service SE,SF, SG type or higher.
Crank case oil capacity without filter 2.75 quarts
Crank case oil capacity with oil filter 2.96 quarts
It is HIGHLY recommended not to add the stated capacity all at once. Check site glass often when nearing the total amount needed. You DO NOT want to overfill.
Clutch use the same oil? If you mean the brake system Recommended is DOT 4 brake fluid.
Manual only shows Clutch and cable system and adjustments.
Good luck!
Hope this helps
