First check the cable connections to make sure they are clean and tight. then check the starter to make sure it has at least 10 volts going to it when the key is turned to the start position. if the voltage is not at least 10 volts then the car won't start.just reading your statement it sounds as if the battery you replaced is bad/weak, may want to have it load tested.
Hi, odds are your solenoid has shorted out. Remove the starter and have it tested at your local parts chain. To remove the starter, first remove the negative terminal from the battery, then remove the wires from the solenoid. Then remove the 2 starter bolts--they thread in from the transmission side.
