1997 chevy cavalier 2.2 engine, intermittent starting problem. Replaced plugs, wires, coil packs. Sometimes it will start and run like a champ. Other times you can't get ut to start at all. I've heard about theft light and reset procedures but my theft light stays lit ( doesn't blink like they say ) . Really having a hard time with this one! Any suggestions???

When you say it won't start, do you mean it cranks but won't fire, or it just won't crank? If it just won't crank, you could be having an issue with the starter relay. The often become intermittent before failure. Many owners do not know there is a starter relay because it was added as a recall item i order to protect the iginition switch from burnout. The starter relay is located in the very front of the engine compartment, just to the left of the battery, on the back side of the radiator crossmember.

Check for any wiring pinch which might have occurred when the injector was replaced. The injector is driven directly by the computer, so it seems to point at the new computer as being faulty. (pulse signal is always 'on')

Coil pack keeps going bad,

Your problem sounds like an intermittent short in the power feed to the coil pack from the EEC module

the car should have a coil pack...when you changed the plugs and wires they cap would have been at the top end of the plug wires. other wise it wil be at the front of the car where the plug wires or sparkplugs run to
