Same as the Ford Ranger. The Airbag Interlock for turning the Passenger side air bag off has a burned out light. You can dismantle this unit and replace the light with one from ford but it has to be soldered in place.
When you turn the key on the airbag light should come on for the bulb test. If the bulb doesn't work, it will beep to let you know the bulb is out. The only way to stop it from beeping is to replace the bulb.
The airbag malfunction indicator light on the instrument cluster might be the culprit. Turn on the ignition key check whether the airbag light if present. The airbag light shld be on for about 6 sec then turns off if there are no faults found. If the bulb is busted the beeping sound will warn the driver for five consecutive beeps. wear your seatbelts also.
The Airbag indicator lamp is burnt out, and a flash code is waiting. Radio shack ( or similar ) should still have the replacement bulb for it.
Once you put it back in, the airbag lamp will flash a code that is a number, t ( ie flash 3 times ) then another number ( ie flash 5 times ). You will need that code for the next step in the diagnoses. Don't be alarmed if you get 10 sets of 3 flashes, that is actually a LFC ( Light Flash Code ) 33
if here is no airbag light on when you first turn on the key. then the beeping is coming from the airbag module. you will have to take cluster apart and replace airbag light bulb, that should stop the beeping.
IF you do not show any Warning Lights. You may have a bad bulb. Pull the Frame from around the Speedometer Dash and then unplug the cables and then Get a meter and and check continuity on the bulbs. They are pretty easy to twist & pull out. I had a warning sound the same as yours . Metered it out and found the Airbag is Bad. Wich is also attached to the Horn. Bad way to do things. Anyways try that.Circuspyro
the beeps are an airbag trouble code, that code is for the following: In most cases this problem is caused by the rotating ribbon circuit contact under the steering wheel having a broken filament, the part is known as a clock spring contact, u will need to properly disarm the airbag and remove the steering wheel to access the part. WARNING: Failure to follow factory Airbag disarming protocol can result in an unexpected Airbag deployment and possible serious personnel injury or death.
When you turn key on check if airbag light on instrument cluster comes on. 5 beeps is the tone to let you know your airbag light in instrument cluster is inop..
