Tirn signals both sides on my Jeep Cherokee 200

Interesting, these are on the same circuit.

1) Click the hazards on and off a few times to exercise the switch.
2) Replace the flasher timer relay.
3) I believe that this system has a little computer center, about the size of a machbox and it is located under the dash. Swap this out with one from a junkyard.

Had simular problem with wife 2000 Jeep Cherookee.
My signal light were not working at all.Check flasher relay under steering colum

My guess would be a problem with the turn signal switch.
Unless there is a short in one of the bulb sockets and the parking lights are flashing too.

Your Turn Signal FLASHER is out; replace it...

The flasher is located in the Junction Block (under the dash, left of steering wheel. See diagram at very top of this page). The following repair tip was provided by "tntguy":


Look at the end of the flasher relay with the prongs sticking out. There will be 2 plastic tabs holding it together. Break or bend these back. Pull out the insides. On one side will be all the components. On the other side will be solder joints. Get a magnifying glass and inspect these joints. One or two will probably have stress cracks. Just dab a little flux on this joint and heat it with a soldering iron until it melts back together.



You may need to add just a little solder. Be sure to get the pins hot and not just the solder. They need a lot of heat. Slide the relay back into its cover, dab a little super glue or tape it back together, and you're ready to go.

sounds like the flasher up under the dash

I can't tell you where to look but it sounds like the Flasher is wore out.

YOU NEED A NEW FLASHER RELAY

yes that's correct... you need to replace the flasher unit

I would check the flasher due to the fact that is where power is being sent to to send out intermit voltage to the rear lamps. check for open or groundin wires
