P1259 is a problem with the VTEC system. this system is for improved performance at higher rpm's. oil can get sludged up and clog the system, or the VTEC solenoid can just go bad. you can always have someone with a scan tool clear the codes to turn off the light, but until the problem is fixed, it will just keep coming back on

P1457 HONDA - Evaporative Emissions Control System Leakage EVAP Canister Systemxicon.jpghttp://engine-codes.com/p1457_honda.htmlForum CodePossible causes- Missing Fuel cap
- Incorrect fuel filler cap used
- Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close
- Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap There is a Honda factory service bulletin with information on how to diagnose the P1456 on the following Honda models:
1998 Honda Accord
1999 Honda Accord
2000 Honda Accord
1998-2000 Honda Accord
symptoms- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Possible a noticeable fuel odor caused by the release of fuel vaporsP1457 HONDA Description The evaporative emission (EVAP) control system stores fuel vapor from the fuel tank in the EVAP canister temporarily to prevent it from escaping to the atmosphere and to enable it to be drawn into the engine by intake manifold vacuum and burned. In addition, the onboard refueling vapor recovery system (ORVR) stores fuel vapor generated when refueling in the EVAP canister.

The EVAP control system leak detection method improves the accuracy and frequency of the detection by determining faulty components and vapor leakage for each part. The EVAP control system (from the purge valve to the fuel tank) is divided into two parts. One is the "EVAP Canister Side" (from the EVAP two way valve to the purge valve) and the other is the "Tank Side" (from the EVAP two way valve to the fuel tank). There is 0.04 inch leak detection and 0.02 inch leak detection. If the 0.04 inch leak detection results are OK, the 0.02 inch leak detection runs. The P1457 code is detected when the EVAP system has a very small leak.

P0107 HONDA - Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Voltagexicon.jpghttp://engine-codes.com/p0107_honda.htmlForum CodePossible causes- Manifold Absolute Pressure harness is open or shorted
- Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor poor electrical circuit connector
- Faulty Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM) When is the code detected? An excessively low voltage from the sensor is sent to ECMSymptoms- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Engine rough idle
- Engine hesitation
P0107 HONDA Description The Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor provides instantaneous manifold pressure information to the engine's Engine Control Module. The data is used to calculate air density and determine the engine's air mass flow rate, which in turn determines the required fuel metering for optimum combustion. A fuel-injected engine may alternately use a Mass Air Flow sensor to detect the intake airflow. A typical configuration employs one or the other, but seldom both.

In some vehicles the absolute pressure sensor is built into ECM. Ford trauras trouble code 732 - was told transmission code 732 was being produced, what does a code 732 say?

P0732 FORD - Incorrect Second Gear Ratio
Transmission in second gear and the ECM detected an incorrect gear ration. This diagnosis monitors actual gear position by checking the torque converter slip ratio calculated by Transmission Control Module (TCM) as follows:

Torque converter slip ratio = A x C/B

A: Output shaft revolution signal from revolution sensor
B: Engine speed signal from Engine Control Module (ECM)
C: Gear ratio determined as gear position which TCM supposes

If the actual gear position is higher than the position (2nd) supposed by TCM, the slip ratio will be more than normal. In case the ratio exceeds the specified value, TCM judges this diagnosis malfunction.

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Incorrect transmission shifting

Possible causes
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Shift solenoids
- Transmission mechanical problems
- Transmission hydraulic control circuit

Tech notes
Start by inspecting the transmission fluid level and condition, and change fluid if necessary.

Hope helps.

Service engine soon nissan sentra 1998

HI. This will require you to have the engine CPU scanned for trouble code's. This can only be administered with the assistance of a diagnostic computer scan tool. You can purchase this tool, at your local auto parts store, or you can just have the scan ran at your local auto zone parts store, free of charge. Once the diagnostic scan is administered, you will be able to isolate the issues that have caused the check engine light to illuminate.

This scan tool will display a print out code and the location of the issue, on the engine, as well. There are Many issues that will cause the engine light to illuminate, but the most common cause will be a failed monitoring sensor, or sensor harness failure(separated power wire, or ground).

Once you have the codes, kindly return to the site, and post them here. We will be able to assist with more accuracy, once the codes are posted.

Thanks..

I have a 1997 Honda Accord SE 4 Cylinder with a check engine light on. I had a mechanic run a diagnostic and it came back with code p0740, torque converter clutch circuit malfunction. What does this mean?

The torque converter is a key functional part of the automatic transmission. The car computer detected a malfunction and set the P0704 code. Most likely you have over 100k miles already so it could be problems with the transmission. Most mechanics will reset the light and code if you are not having any transmission problems. It the problem comes back you will need to service or replace the transmission. Best thing to do is to take the car to a mechanic you trust and find the best and cheapest way to address the malfunction.

Hi i got a 1992 honda accord and the check engine light isnt working how do i fix that? and wat the ignition timing suppose to be for the car?

Hi there,

The Engine Check light is a signal that the Engine's computer has identified a problem somewhere.

As your engine is EFI, we can firstly rule out any Fault Codes in the engine computer, by checking for any existing Diagnostic Trouble codes (DTC's).

Firstly, I will need you to confirm for me, which of the Diagnostic connectors your vehicle has:

1) 16 Pin connector - found under the dash, above either driver or passenger knee.

OR

2) Double blade (male) connector (usally green) - this can be found in either under driver's side dash, passenger's side dash, under driver's seat, under front passenger's seat, under passenger's side carpet (or flap in carpet).

Please confirm which of these your vehicle has, and I will provide you with instructions on how to extract the diagnostic codes (if any).

You need to do this step, before suspecting mechanical failure.

Hear from you soon...

Transmission and check ingine light

Your vehicle’s computer system has self-testing capability. When the computer senses that there is a problem with some of the components it stores the correspondent trouble code(s) in its memory and lights up the "Check Engine" or "Service Engine Soon" light to tell you that there is a problem and you should have the car diagnosed and repaired. First step is to see what codes are in your computer and if they are transmission codes.
