I promise this works 'cause I used it:

Put the key in the ignition, move the intermittent wiper control to the middle possition and then turn the key on.

just to clarify it's the ring that controlls the intermittent wiper speed and not the int / low/ high switch.

What this does is it resets the multiplex unit that controlls the accessories such as the power door locks. This problem usually happens once the battery has been removed or disconnected and reconnected. Every once in a while the multiplex systems lock up. Especially on the 98s. That's how you wake em up.

I have a 2002 Accord. Owned for 5 years, no problems ever. Had oil changed at Grease Monkey and everything was good. Later the same day the check engine light and TCS light come on. Car runs and drives perfect up to 3500 rpm and then the engine begins to pulsate. Continues to do this as long as its at 3500 rpm. Same symptoms when in neutral. Took to Checker, used code reader, came up with P1259 - VTech System Malfunction. What has happened and how can I fix this? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If your car came with the Prestige Alarm unit, there is a possibility that the alarm box got deprogrammed or burned, and left the anti-theft activated. Use the Valet Switch to deactivate the alarm permanently, and see if the car starts. For some reason unknown to me, it takes a couple of cycles of crank/ take the ignition switch off, crank again for the Valet Switch to work. In my 98 Accord, this micro-switch is installed in the left front kicker panel, but there is no guarantee that it will be in the same place in you accord, since it is a dealer installed option

If you have a leak of any kind, it will be on your carport or garage floor. If it is engine rear seal it will be oil, if it is Trans then it will be reddish fluid. Unfortunately this practice of up selling is getting more common. If you are really concerned take it to another reliable mechanic for second opinion. Hello Corey Wilkey, I got one thing that your OXYGEN SENSORS always get blamed for... (sorry). As a matter of FACT... your whole list is where the money gets spent first... (not so cheap: save all those good parts). Sadly (I believe) all your troubles will resolve to a BLOCKED EXHAUST... started on occasion but has popped and now might run... but definitely stops (muffler/resonator). or... Onset was pretty quick... now really does not even threaten to run anymore (catalytic convertor) If you don't mind a filthy job two people & good shop hoist... it is not a horrible job... but if you are taking to an Exhaust shop... Know your material PRICES ( and STATE laws ) BEFORE you go...!! The muffler shop can TEST & CONFIRM... • Sound a little like block exhaust or exhaust system starting to fail. If not this, the spark plugs are suspected. Have an old set of plugs around that you can replace to find out. Good luck.

Test for power and ground going to the horn. If it's getting power and ground, the horn is bad from running for so long

you do not mention the type of noise rattle , squeal , rumble , grinding so any answer is a guess the only noise from a crankshaft pulley would be a squeal/scream from a failed harmonic balance rubber insert when the ac compressor is engaged the extra load on the pulley would make it slip on the rubber however as the ac compressor would not be driving long before the crank pulley came apart I suspect that the mechanic was not experienced enough to advise correctly suggest that you get a second opinion from an accredited professional ac specialist

That is a key recognition problem. It happens more often with keys that have been made, but it can also happen with stock ones. It could be the key or the lock on the column, or it could even be the ECU. I have dealt with this myself, and spent a lot of money before having to take it to the dealer anyway.
