I have automatic windows and i rolled them down this morning. My driver's side rear window won't go back up whether I depress the button on the driver's main control or the button on the rear passenger's door itself . I'm not very knowledgeable regarding cars so I wonder: Is this a fuse problem or a window motor problem? I'm hoping I can just go to AutoZone and buy a new fuse rather than bringing my wagon in to the mechanic and having them take the whole door apart, etc. Can someone please give me a heads-up on this? Thanks

that is a safety feature to stop children playing with windows. On my Lexus ES330, there is a button just ahead of the driver's 4 button window control. It controls whether passengers can use windows or not on the other three doors. Consult your manual

Page 55 and 56 refers to it as a child safety switch, it is marked 'S' on the diagram and is behind your 4 switches on the right.

Child safety switch is pressed in, the
When the safety switch 'S' in the switch lights up. The window switches in the rear doors are deactivated.

Replaced battery, now auto windows wont come up auto automatically

If on a GM car the battery has been disconnect the windows may need to be reprogrammed
The following steps explain how to program the side door window regulator motors:

  1. Press and hold the power window switch until the window is fully DOWN. Continue holding the power window switch for approximately 3 seconds.

  2. Press and hold the power window switch until the window is fully UP. Continue holding the power window switch for approximately 3 seconds.

  3. The power window regulator motor is now programmed for the express function.

  4. Repeat this process for all of the power windows.

Problem should be in the rear door switch. The motor is powered from both switches.

DRIVERS SIDE REAR WINDOW ROLLS DOWN WHEN 2006 DENALI IS STARTED. THEN WON' T ROLL BACK UP.

Got kids? VW electric convertible top - I found dried milk in the switch had same problem on turn on convertible opened and would not close, would have to use manaul bypass foldup. Pull window controller spray with a electrical cleaner then try it. If not dirty the switch is bad. May be in driver door switch or on rear door? Good luck.

Rear driver side power window will not work

I'm guessing you've removed the door panel since you said you removed the switch. but just in case...you'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. Then pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything. It sounds like the motor may have died you on if you cannot hear it...it could also be the regulator or linkage has broken

Window motor rolls down but not up.

I think that the switch itself is losing contact. By switch I mean the button you are depressing to roll up the window.
