To be honest, Save your 90.00 and pop it in your self. Sun visors are very easy to change and will take you all of 5 minutes. Most visors are held in place by 2-3 little screws that you will see at the base of the visor and looks like they are screwed into your roof. just take the screws out and the visor will pop right out for you. then just do the opposite to install it. It really is that easy.

Good Luck and I hope this helps.

How do you get to the three little screws? We cannot get the plastic off. Please help. thank you.

  • Peter Lu Jul 26, 2011

There is no screw realted. The plastic casing is weak. It seems like a design issue. I have fixed mine and I am pretty sure it will last. Please watch my DIY video on YouTube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvPxParKy...

I took mine out today and it's easy but don't know how much it will cost from the dealer tomorrow. No screws at all. two clips on either side and it slips out. Crazy design.

There are no screws involved with the 2007-2009 camry sun visors. The removal and installation proceedures are in Toyota's Technical Service Bulletin T-SB-0093-09. Google it.

Go to a scrapyard and get another probably will cost less than $20...three screws and you will have it changed.

How do you take the visor off? We know there are screws, but we cannot remove the plastic to see the screws? Thank you.

  • Anonymous Apr 13, 2011

Plastic covers generally pop off with a small amount of prying. That's such a non-issue i didn't even mention it. If you obtain the replacement from a scrapyard, just ask that they include the cover. That way, if you happen to damage the one you have, you already have another!!
Regarding buying used parts....The car you drive is 100% used parts the moment you drive it off the showroom floor!!!

Toyota has revised the proceedure for "Sunvisor - Removal & Installation Proceedures" for 2007-2009 Camry, Camry HV ; 2009 Corolla; 2009 Matrix; 2006-2009 RAV4; and 2007-2009 Yaris. See Technical Service Bulletin T-SB-0093-09 Dated March 18, 2009. Google it. Step 1. says "Disengage the 4 claws from the sunvisor plastic braket cover." There are 5 pages with clear instructions and pictures. Good luck finding replacements.

2007 camry sun visor broke. Is any recall for that?

I have a 2007 camry and my driver side visor keeps coming down in my face while driving. I contacted Toyota and they told me that there was no recall. I said that is a very bad safety hazard. Toyota told me that to have it fixed it will cost me $130.00. I work in a automotive parts factory and when we get calls on bad parts that we have manufactuer we replace them. And the parts are for Toyota but the are not the visors. COME ON TOYOTA YOU CAN RECALL THESE BROKEN VISORS!!!!!

2007 Toyota Camry LE - broken sun visor

most likely a defect. call the dealer and see if toyota has issued a recall on the visor and you might have it replaced for free. other than that, there's always the junkyard.

Sun visor on driver's side won't stay up or all the way down. 2006 Sonata the sunvisor will not stay up or all the way down. It just flaps back and forth, I have to put double sided tape on it for it to...

If under 60,000 miles, take it to the dealer for replacement - free of charge. Both sun visors on my 2006 Hyundai Sonata did the same thing and had them both replaced, but now out of warranty and driver's side has done it again so I'll have to pay to have it fixed. Looking for a used one online now. I guess this is just a defect in that particular model.

Sun visor on driver's side won't stay up or all the way down. 2006 Sonata I have the same problem with my 2007 Sonata driver side sun visor broke and will not stay up but keeps droping down in my view....

I have a 2007 Sonata and the driver's side sun visor broke. I called the dealership where I purchased the car, and was told that they only cover it for 5 years/60,000 miles. So if your's is broken, get it in there before the warranty expires. Otherwise the cost is around $80 for the visor unit.
