The upholstery on my sun roof shade (VW Jetta 1997) HAS COME AWAY FROM THE board. How do I get at the shade to repair the upholstery?

You need a mobile auto electrician to diagnose and find where in those items the dead short is. They will disconnect items one at a time until they find the one that is causing it.

Hi. I have found that the procedure fries the Gateway and the radio. The gateway will stop everything working. There is a 200 amp fuse on the front of the fuse box in the engine compartment. See if this has blown and replace this first though. It may have saved you.

this is touchy...... FLASH LIGHT .... needle nose pliers..... 2nd person.... to hold flash light.... look inside under the ROOF LINER see is there is anything blocking SUN SCREEN if not them attempt this carefully .... person with pliers pick the center of where the SUN SHADE is reach in carefully with the flashlight shining where the pliers is... the pliers see if you can cover them with DUCK Tape to protect the shade grab shade and start to pull it out... watch both sides in case it gets stuck as your pulling it out from under roof liner... good luck

there is a part of the shade jammed in the track if you remove the piece is jammed it will work properly

buy another car,to fit A/C now is more than the car is worth,install a sun roof instead

i had this same problem i think u have to take it in to get replaced. i try to get to the stupid thing but it was a ***** to take everything apart. around the framin of the moonroof. and u still need to get the retactable thingy. have it replaced. unless u have more patience.. but beware once u start to take ur car apart.. the top roof cover might become loose if u dont put it back the way u had it..

Go to the library and find the Manuel you need and photo copy it .or if you have a smart phone (goto how do I fix my vw year make and problem.and will have some thing there for shure.
