1993 ltd dc. lights on speedometer and tripcomputer notworking but the units themself are stil working correctly.the lights on the door warnigh system is fine , the lighte on the speedo went first then aweek later the tripcomputer lights went. fuse is fine

Check the fuel pump socket if they are stil intact/connected.or bring out the fuel pump and replace it completely.

SPEEDOMETER TROUBLESHOOTING

Can be loose speedo wiring connectors under instrument panel or its issue with speed sensor on transmission.

A speedometer shows speed, which is the magnitude of velocity. It does not show velocity, which is a vector, meaning it includes a direction. So speedometer notworking have nothing to do with the transmission not going into overdrive. Know more diagnostic tool for car.

My parts book shows a speed sensor in the side of the transmission where the cable used to be.

If the problem is the speedometer does not work, and if the gauges are ok, you may need a speedometer.
Does the odometer work ?
Is the check engine light on ?

the bolt has came out of the traine that holds the speedometer down on it

the only thing that is related is the d4/rough gear changing
speed/ rpm malfunction is caused by your speed sensor on the trani (common problem) change it
