You can try disconnecting the battery and see if that resets it. You will need to reprogram your radio possibly so have your anti theft radio code handy if your car is so equipped
Your better off taking it to the dealer , after replacing it needs to be programmed or it will not run . Information from the old has to be up loaded to GM Tech 2 scan tool to load on new one ! Then you would need to pay for a subscription to GM'S service programming system to get software to program new ECM .
Program the ECM. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) in Programming. If you encounter an ECM programming error, with a display message of "Starting Disabled, Remove Key" on the driver information center, with a diagnostic test code (DTC) of P1631, perform the "10-Minute Relearn Procedure" found in Programming Theft Deterrent System Components. Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components . Additional information can be found in service bulletin number 05524 A. Turn OFF the ignition for at least 5 seconds after the programming event is complete. Perform the idle learn procedure. Refer to Idle Learn . Use the scan tool to clear all DTCs.
Of if you a few grand you could buy a J2534 programming tool an J2534 Reprogramming Tool
If you have a working remote most locksmiths now supply and reprograme new remotes. Look them up in the phone book. If you have dont have a working remote you will have to go through holden.

I was reading through the replacement procedure for the ecm in your vehicle. Here`s what I found.you may use a used ecm but it does have to be reprogrammed to your vehicle and it can only be done at the dealership. This I know because I worked at a Cadillac and G.M. dealership.I worked at a dealership for 16 yrs.The other thing is you don`t` need the vehicles vin that the used computer came from. The only one you need is your vin number. This number has all the information that your car is equipt with. The used ecm will have the other vehicles fuel continue password so the programming will put in the fuel continue from your vehicle. The other thing that needs to be programmed is the engine oil life and the transmission oil life or they revert to 100%.Then an idle relearn procedure will have to be performed. The only thing any other shop can do is get the codes or clear the codes. But they can not program a computer.Only the authorized dealerships have this software.Hope this helps clear up your any questions.Good luck.
There is no way to set the timing on your truck. It is completely controlled by the ecm. The only way to correct any timing problems is to have the ecm reprogrammed. I hope this has been helpful. Please leave a good rating.
