SOURCE: hyundai accent '02 inside door handle & Lock removal

Removing the door is very tricky, trust me on this. I ended up breaking it the first time, so please learn from my mistake.

1. Remove all visible screws: 2 at bottom of door, 3 on front near hinge, 1 on inside the door lever. You will need an average size phillips screwdriver to do this.

2. On the door handle itself, you will see two circles. Pop the front one out. You will need a LARGE size phillips screwdriver to do this.

3. Once screws are removed, take a (standard) flat-head screwdriver, preferable one with a large face, and pry the triangular piece of plastic (that covers the outside SIDE mirror) off. This will aide in puting the door panel back on...TRUST ME!!!

4. Take the same flat-head screwdriver, and pry behind the door lock (at the same time, push forward toward the door hinge). The assembly should pop out.

5. Gently pry the door panel from the door, making sure not to break any unnecessary pieces along the way. The door panel should be hanging by the window sill opening.

6. This is where it will get tricky. It is advised that you use help with this part: Angle the door panel at a 45 degree angle. AT THE SAME TIME, slightly bend and twist the door lock handle until it fits through the hole. You will see the 3 pegs the held it in the door from before. Also note: Be careful not to break the 2 poles that are attached to the lock.

7. After popping the lock through the hole, you should be able to lift the door upward, and off the sill. Repeat these steps in reverse order to re-attach door panel.

Be careful not to rip sound-deadening paper found on inside of door unless you intend to remove or replace it! Not only does it prevent dirt and moisture from entering your door (and possible rusting it from the inside out), but it makes your speakers sound better too!

-SportTunerFreak

**It is also recommended to put a tiny bead of silicone on the inside of the door panel to help suppress any rattling, and prevent moisture and dust from entering. It also helps your screws obtain a tighter fit. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: How do I remove driverside inside door panel ?

door panel is holding by dozen plastic push pins.
strat from the button. use a screw driver or putty knife. pull the panel towards you. be careful not to damage the push pins. go around the panel toward the door hinger then the otheer direction toward the lock.once you have panel seperated from the door. push up the panel to clear the glass. (it is easier if the window is all the way down). pull back the plastic (don't destory it). you need to put that back later. now can get access to the galss and what ever else you are looking for.

97 mercury cougar xr7 how do i get door panel off if I cant open door?

It should still be possible, using a little bit of force. all screws and bolts holding on the panel are accessible, even with the door closed...but the panel maybe slightly pinched on the front and rear ends, and possibly on the bottom...but pulling hard on the handle once every bolt and screw is removed should force the panel loose

Doorhandle

for passenger side:
1. unclip screw cover 'center flap' of inside door opener plastic cover, flap is 3/8"x 3/8" (center of plastic cover)
2. remove phillips screw now showing
3. push fabric panel (edge of door opener plastic cover-at hinged end of chrome handle) to allow uncliping of edge of plastic cover (top rt & lwr rt (for passenger side) of plastic cover)
4. open chrome inside door handle to allow plastic cover to be removed-slide plastic cover toward rear, free end of door to remove cover
5. remove switch panel-gently pry with wide non maring pry bar (cover wide blade screwdriver using cloth) do rear of sw panel 1st (don't pry front edge)
6. slide switch panel toward rear to allow removal
7. remove large phillips screw under sw panel
8. remove the 2 plastic covers near top, hinge edge -use plastic spoon handles to encourage caps to pop off. May also require small screwdriver approx 1/8" in to complete pop off
9. remove the 2 phillips screws w/ captive washers
10. remove 3 phillips/hex screws along the bottom inside of door panel
11. on outside/rear edge of panel push the 2 center pins of each in about 1/8"-this allows the clip to be pulled out w/ pin pushed in

13. lift rear of door panel (not hinge edge) up allow hinge edge to pivot around lower pin in door (hinge edge)

Removing inside door handle

The control panels are often held in place by either spring tensioners or some built into the plastic frame of the panel and can be pried up and out. They pretty much depend on gravity to keep it in place.
Once free of the panel, turning it may allow it to be passed through the hole in which it normally resides.
I would try first to pry with an old credit or bank card before resorting to metal tools.

How to open passenger side door panel

Difficult to describe without pictures & illustrations.
1. The door handle is two-piece and the top piece is pryed off/out with a small screwdriver (needs to be removed in order to access two phillips screws behind it.. one at the top and another at the bottom).
2. The door release handle (inside cover) also has a small square cover that needs to be removed to access another phillips head screw behind it... then the cover pops out.
3. Below the arm-rest, there are two more cosmetic plugs covering two more (larger) phillips head screws which must be removed as well
4. The tweeter speaker (forward upper corner of the door is also 'popped' out to allow lifting the panel out of the door frame.
5. Now, there are approx four (4) more screws which need to be removed (covered by cosmetic bottons) three (3) aft and one (1) (possibly 2) forward.
6. Finally, the door panel is held in place by several pop-in round clips. Start prying at the bottom of door panel to start popping them loose & work your way upward to the top of the door panel... once all pop-in clips are popped out, you can now LIFT on the panel to remove it from the door frame. -- careful with the wire harness & connectors inside the door panel & cavity.

Cant get the door panel off

There are three T-25 head screws along the bottom of the inside door panel. Remove them. The face of the inside door handle is removable--just pry it off, probably don't even need a screwdriver to get it off. Underneath, you'll find two #1 phillips head screws. Remove them. Finally, grasp the door panel from the bottom and pull up. It hangs over a little lip against the window. Watch the door lock, make sure the panel clears that. You should have access to all the wiring harnesses that keep the panel attached.

Door locked shut

Many interior panels have additional screws running along the bottom and sides of the panel. They are normally visible and easily accessible when the door is wide open. Compare this first with the right side door of your vehicle.

The key area to look for is any screw that holds the side of the panel. When you remove this (exhausting all patience and guile :-D), you can force off the interior panel rail along the window. The small gap can afford you or an automotive locksmith access to the locking mechanism and open the door.

Hope this helps.

Replacing a outside door handle on 1995 hyundai accent

Hi

Please follow these steps :

1. Remove the 4 screws and the screw in the opening mechanism.
2. Remove the cap on the lock button.
3. Remove the mirror lever cap by pulling it straigt out. It is attached with one clip.
4. Remove the door crank by detaching the C-clip between the spacer and the door panel. It's tricky and somekind of hook could be useful.
5. Pull out the plastic clips. Be careful. I think a spatula could be a useful tool.
6. Move the panel forward and up to remove the opening mechanism from the door. Then pull the mechaninsm out from the panel, turn it and push it back through the panel.
7. At this point the panel should be removed and you can see the door speaker and the adaptor. As you can see the opening mechanism remains on the door.
To put the doorcrank back just put the pieces together in the picture and push it in position.

Good luck and Do rate the solution as FixYa if found useful.

Thanks
