How do you locate the crankshaft in a Hyundai Sante Fe 2005 3.5L
After removing the wheel column in the Hyundai Sante Fe 2005, I could not find the crankshaft near the timing belt. I've followed previous pictures/instructions but can not locate the piece

I found this solution online: "behind engine immediately in front of rear transmission mount. Held in place by hairpin clip on wire plug and 10 MM screw". Also, Hyundai commonly places a speed sensor against the driveline out on the passenger front wheel hub. This would be right out near the disc brakes, look for the wire. Good luck!
it is located inside the transmission attached to the bottom of the hydraulic control called the valve body, to replace the filter/strained you must remove the pan from the transmission, a very, very messy job.
The filter sits on top of the transmission. look under the hood on drivers side it screws right on top of the transmission. It looks like an engine oil filter.
