dont need a mechanic. just need some sockets. check on the intake. sometimes they put on the side of the block (engine) it has two wires going into it and its short.

How to fix the outside temperature gauge

A common problem on Hyundai vehicles is the outside temperature reading in their dash stopped working or displays incorrect temperature. The models in question with this fault are the 2011 Santa Fe, 2013 Sonata, 2013 Elantra.
The problem lies in the wiring harness along the bottom of the rad saddle (bottom/center of rad ). The ambient sensor is located near the horn in front of the rad. Examine the ambient sensor for damage and them follow the two wire down to the bottom of the rad, open up the harness and you will fine a break in the sensor wire from corrosion/ moisture. Repair/ solder in new piece of wire and heat shrink.

Only the 4 cylinder uses a stand alone ICM. If you have a 4 cyl then the module may be attached to the valve cover. See picture.
