Will a starter from a 2008 Ford escape fit onto a 2008 Ford ranger

No, a starter from a 2008 Ford Escape will not fit onto a 2008 Ford Ranger. The starters are specific to each vehicle model and are not interchangeable. The starter is responsible for delivering the electrical current necessary to turn the engine over and start the vehicle, and the design of the starter is different for each vehicle model to fit in the specific engine bay and connect to the battery and solenoid correctly.
If you need to replace the starter in your 2008 Ford Ranger, it's important to use the correct starter designed for your specific vehicle model to ensure proper fit and performance. You can find the right starter for your Ranger by checking the owner's manual or by contacting a Ford dealership or auto parts store.

In old vehicles I would say follow the Positive cable from the battery to the starter. Look like this car is like my grandma sentra the starter is up top.

I have a 2008 ford escape 2wd 3.0 and i put a new starter on it and when i reconnect the battery the starter starts to wind and i don't have the key in the ignition. What did i do wrong?

there are two large bolt electrical terminals on most starters one has nothing on it ,thats where the battery wire hooks up + and the other (looks just like other one) has a small bent piece of metal that connects to starter under it's bolt that's Not where you hook battery , if you did hook it there the starter would run as soon as you hook up battery
ooh and the two bolts and anything connected to them can not touch each other or anything else
try looking at that
