Generally, they will be located under the middle of the dash between the blower and the controls...find a service manual for exact location

SOURCE: no air flow to dash vents and feet vents

99% of the time when they do that it is the control head. that is the thing you adjust all your temp settings on. have to purchase from dealer. have last eight digits of vin # when ordering.

SOURCE: 1995 Chevy k1500 heater problems.

For a 95 Chevy Silverado....I replaced the Blend Door Actuator on the passenger side. Just behind the slide out cup holder. Yo ucan acces easily by removing the ash tray piece and the glove box....Or just the glove box and work like hell to get a socket in a tight place.

There are 2 actuators....one controlling the (Mode and Temp 89018681) and the other the (Air Inlet 89018367). I called the dealer and the parts were 85-125. I got it From TBA Auto (local store) for 39.00. A 20 min job at most.

Had the same thing happen to my truck, the blen door actuator is under the console on passenger side, but the heater core is going to be clogged if you dont have any heat coming through, but a/c works..

2002 ford explorer air only blows through dash vents will not switch to floor or defrost vents

This sounds like an actuator. There is usually several (three or four) on different vehicles. There will be at least one that directs the air to different locations such as defrost. You also may have a defective selector switch. I would check this before I changed the actuator or blend door. If the blend door is defective, this usually calls for totally removing the entire dash panel and usually requires several hours work. If you have to have a repair shop do this it can be very expensive.

it sounds like the blend door actuator. you can purchase a Haynes manual at your local auto parts store, this will provide step by step instructions with illustrations on how to replace.

Air, either heated or cooled only comes out the dash vents, cannot redirect air to any other vents.

The most common cause of your problem is the blend door actuator. This controls air flow from defrost, vent, floot etc. In most cases, replacing the blend door actuator will fix your problem. It's commonly located above or behind the heater vents on the floor of the cabin.

Trying to figure out how many blend doors are in a 1996 Chevy 1500. It does not seem like all the doors are operating properly because I feel very little thru the vents and not as strong as it should be on...

There is 1 blend door for a vehicle with a main temperature control, 2 for dual driver/passenger climate control settings etc. The vents however which open and close to switch between defrost, floor, bi level etc may not be functioning properly. You should feel the same temp in all your vent outlets, whether you're getting the volume out of each is something totally different to address

95 chev. pickup. Cool air comes out at floor. Cannot divert any air to the vents or defroster vent. Can feel warmth on the black plastic box like thing near the floorboard so I know there is warm water...

It sounds like the actuator that diverts the air may have gone out. I would suggest replacing the blend-door actuator so that your air will go to the right places. The blend door actuator shouldn't cost more than $150.
