Why won't the A/C turn on?

You did put 134a back in? But possibly not enough? There is a pressure safety switch somewhere in the system that detects pressure and opens the circuit if not enough freon. At least that is where I would start. Does the Compressor turn freely otherwise by hand? Did you get enough compressor oil into the system (new Compressors need special charge with compressor oil).

How much pag oil go in my Dodge Durango ac compressor 2004 model

there will be no need to put oil in an ac compressor
new compressors already have oil in them and old units have the oil through out the ac system that comes back in with the gas.

Ac compressor oil

Yes you should add oil before installing. Simple add 3oz for every pound of freon your vehicle requires for a full charge. Pour the oil directly into he compressor through the openings that the hoses attach to.

How to put oil in the a/c compressor on a 2001 land rover discovery series ii

you can not put oil on yourself. You have to visit a qulified garage where they know how to do it. The oil goes with the same machine which is putting freon gas in the ac compressor.

How much oild to put in the ac compreeser

unless you are changing a new compressor you should not have to add any oil in there. Do not put oil since the compressor already has enough oil in it. If you put oil in there and it already has oil, the AC system will not function properly because it has too much oil. How much oil to put in there is determined how much is already in there.

How much compressor oil do I add when changing the ac compressor on a 04 expedition with front and rear ac?

When replacing the compressor the dryer should also be replaced, you put 2oz of oil in compressor and stand compressor on pulley for 5 min, then after install turn clutch 10 turns to pump most oil out of compressor, the dryer should have 2 oz of oil also, if you are flushing the ac system out with a solvent then more oil is needed for the system, if your just replacing the compressor then 2oz in compressor.

Hi..i had to change a/c condencer, and the a/c compresser, both at the same time.how will i go about charging the system? do i need to add coolent too both ports? or just the low side.?

YOU TAKE TO A GARAGE LET THEM PUMP IT DOWN FIRST MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE RIGHT AMOUNT REFRIGERANT OIL IN COMPRESSOR.IT COME WITH SHIPPING OIL IN IT BUT YOU HAVE TO POUR IT OUT.PUT IN THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF REFRIGERANT OIL IN COMPRESSOR LOOK IN OWNERS MANUAL TO PUT IN THE RIGHT AMOUNT.NOW IF YOUR OLD COMPRESSOR SEIZED OR LOCKED UP THEN LET GARAGE FLUSH OUT METAL SHAVINGS OUT .IF YOU DONT FLUSH OUT SHAVINGS THE NEW COMPRESSOR WILL BE DESTROYED.ALSO YOU HAVE TO REPLACED THE ACCUMULATOR OR ORIFICE TUBE IF EQUIPPED.IF OLD COMPRESSOR DIDNT LOCK UP.PUT NEW REFRIGERANT OIL IN COMPRESSOR IT TAKE AT LEAST 1 OUNCE OF OIL BUT CHECK OWNERS MANUAL ALL VECHICLE HAS DIFFERENT SPECS.AFTER COMPRESSOR OIL BEEN PUT IN EVERYTHING ALL REFRIGERANT LINES TIGHT.TAKE VECHICLE TO A GARAGE THAT DO AIR CONDITIONER WORK.THEY HAVE TO USE A VACUUM PUMP TO PUMP DOWN THE AC SYSTEM TO REMOVE MOISTURE AND LEAK TEST THE SYSTEM WHILE IT PUMP DOWN.IF YOU DONT LET THE GARAGE PUMP DOWN SYSTEM. THE MOISTURE WILL FREEZE UP IN AC SYSTEM CAUSING POOR OR NO COOLING.THE GARAGE GOING TO CHARGE YOU TO PUMP DOWN AND CHARGE UP SYSTEM.IT WOULD BE CHEAPER TO DO THIS THAN TO BUY A VACUUM PUMP AND MANIFOLD GAUGE SET.WHEN DOING AC WORK YOU NEED SPECIAL EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS TO DO THE JOB OR THE AC SYSTEM WILL NOT WORK RIGHT.

Installed new air conditioning compressor in 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix - how much compressor oil do I need to put in?

If you have not cleaned out the ac system, the ac system will have oil in it,but, the compressor most likely does not have any in it,so pour about 4 to 5 oz in the low side opening on the compressor before installing it,and turn the center nut of the compressor clutch about 8 to 10 times, oil will try and come out the high side, when it does, this will be enough turning. If the system needs more oil,add as needed when freon is put in the system. If the oil is not added to the ac compressor before installing, the compressor could be damaged. Please rate if this was helpful, thank you.
