Removal of transmission

place large masonry mixing tray[home depot]under transmission pan to catch fluid. remove 19 bolts on transmission pan.pull off filter.make sure o-ring gasket is removed if it is not on old filter.push in new filter.clean old gasket off pan.install new gasket and pan. refill transmission fluid.check pan for leaks.

Depends on whether they remove the axles or not. Some people do, some remove the control arm. If they removed the axles and didn't replace the lost transmission fluid, This could pop a code.

and taking a short pry bar insecure between the end of the CV axle and transmission and just wiggling and prying slightly should pop the CV axle out

10mm 8mm 12mm wrenches , wise grip , strong light , jack stands etc. Flat screwdriver also .

Not too hard at all, even easier if you have it up on a lift. But if I remember right the pan is easy to get to without having to remove anything else. It is a good idea to go ahead and replace the filter while you are there. Make sure you get the rubber seal out of the valve body when you remove the old filter.

Okay this is a internal problem in the transmission you will need to remove side cover and oil pan of the transmission.This is a big job to do it safely you will need a hoist and engine cradel this a profesional job my advice to you unless you have done this before 2 or 3 times take it in for service this is a delicate job mistakes can resault in costly mancanical further repairs.Hope this helps,John

Look for a plunger type switch located somewhere on the door jambs, they are most often found somewhere near the hinges. These become corroded with time and worn from usage. Remove and clean.

You have to use and engine support bar that hooks across the top of the strut towers like this

Then you remove the sub frame under car and remove tranny thru the bottom.

Check your vacuum hoses (They are 3/8" Rubber hosing on the right side of the engine, you will need to remove the air intake piping (Also remove the throttle body to make accessing them easier) This is the #1 cause of high idling in the 3.0 OHV and 3.0 DOHC sable engines.

Have transmission serviced, change fluid and filter. Probably worn clutches in transmission.
