Make sure that the shifter cable is on tight to the transmission lever and that there is nothing, blockage, keeping it from working.
If all looks ok, then disconnect the linkage from the transmission and see if it will move into the Park. If the shifter does, then check to see if you can shift the transmission manually into park. It just might be a little out of adjustment.

Did you get the correct alternator? Try to disconnect the alternator then charge the battery keep in mind the battery is probably bad after exploding and will cause all sort of problems. If unplugging the alternator works take it back and exchange it or have them bench test it and replace the defective voltage regulator. I hope this helps. Take care.

Ur fuel delivery cud hav issue. Clean carb w BG sold in boatshops. Inspect ignition components fir wear. Buy a clymer or haynes manual for conplete repair

The trick is to wrap the belt around all the grooved pulleys first and leave the smooth idler pulleys for last. Then the belt can just slip on the smooth pulley
